  1. My new setup! Used to have a Kurzweil Forte 7 with Kurzweil PC3K6 Many of the samples I used where my own (piano, brass, accordion, old-d50 stuff), so converted them into SFZ and am using Sforzando in Mainstage. others sounds from mainstage instruments and a few free soundfont files that I converted to SFZ. I prefer the stability and ease of sforzando to the mainstage sampler. The DMC-122 is great: only 18KG and I like the short distance between the keyboards. I'm able to trigger everything from the DMC, not touching the Laptop (Macbook Pro 2012 with 256GB SSD and 16GB mem). Around 25% load. I use mainly aliases to keep the load low on CPU and memory. Also am using some tricks to use a separate control for both keyboards (mainly piano sounds on the bottom with optional pad/strings and al specific song splits and generatic sounds on the top). I do not use a patch for every song, but mainly select the right piano and top sound on the fly. I did backing tracks from my Forte-7, now using mainstage for this. I trigger 4 channels and use a cheap USB DAC for the click output. Headphone output for the sounds. Mix everything together with the Rolls PC351 and also use it's DI. For light effects I use a second-hand light (modified to LED and powered by the DMC USB output), had to refurbish al the electric and leather wires.... Made a wooden backplate as i did not like the metal looks of the DMC. Seems very stable, pics are from it's first gig.
  2. Nice! I remember this thing! Was one of the best demo's I ever saw. Years ago on the Firato (show in Holland) the demo was given by Peter Baardman. He told a small story about revolution and something brand new from Yamaha and started with 'a brand new day' from the wizz. This sounded so incredibly powerful and fresh, that I visited that demo 3 times that day! I think I was 15 years old and had a cheap rented Solina organ at home. I played one a few years later and noticed the power in it. Not sure how it stands-up in the current time but still a legend organ for me!
  3. I'm about to order a HX3 kit for my XB-2. Bought a defective XB-2 this week, it is in great shape, except for the defect chip. I cannot find that much detail on the HX3 site. I can't even find a detailed manual. I need more information about the midi-out implementation (can you use as a midi-controller), does the organ-solo button still work? I would like to hear more demos! Not from the company themselves. Are there any others using the HX3 in a XB2? Please let me know. It sounds great on the youtube movies, but how is it in real life/live? It is quite some money to spend...
