  1. On the studio version, sounds to me like there's no keys, except on the first verse there's a stabbed chord on beat 4 of every other bar. On later verses sounds like the horns take over that job. So laying out would work well.

Also, do you have two guitarists? If not, there's two guitar parts on much of the verse (chords, and single notes), and you could cover one of those.

  2. Has anyone looked at the Kurzweil line recently and thought it has just _too many_ products?

Definitely. But presumably some things like the SP4-8 are just there until they have stock of the SP1 and SP6?

  3. Might even be fun for me to collect a few questions from you guys to add to my own.

    Great, looking forward to it.

    For questions how about:

    1. How does it work out having 2+ keys guys in the band in terms of arrangements, sounds etc?

    2. Who chooses gear and sounds?

  4. I can't find the original reference to the P50m that I'm thinking of (or I'm imaging??!!!), I'm afraid, but have a look at this 2012 video on Keyboard Mag with Marty Gelhaar:

At about 1:10, he mentions Yamaha P50 modules and says these are "what we used for many years for piano." He says they really liked the way the P50 cuts through the band, but they "loop really quickly", hence the switch to Ivory.

  5. Long time lurker on this thread, first time poster here... wanted to share my progress.

Since January I've been following the Couch-to-5k program. It's supposed to be 9 weeks, but I've had lots of interruptions and lack of progress, but I've stuck with it. And I really was starting from scratch (jogging 1 minute at the start felt difficult!).

Today, I ran 5km (without stopping) for the first time in my life. On a treadmill at 8.5km/h, so it took me just over 35 minutes (I think that's about 11:22 pace for a mile, as best I can work it out).

Now I need to start running outside to make it a little more interesting! We also have regular weekly 'park run' events here where you can turn up and run a timed 5k in an organised group, so doing that is my next target.
