  1. Great, but not everyone is playing piano on stage. And even some that do stand. If it's a classical or jazz quartet, fine. If not, stand if you like. The Piano Police won't arrest you.
  2. 1. Wear a big cape 2. Use your elbow for Hammond glisses 3. Tilt the Hammond 4. 3. You might want to check out some of the downloads on my site. I'm a musician who teaches stress management and other issues as a day job. https://simplyflow.myshopify.com/
  4. That's classical players out the window then
  5. I gigged a split T200 through the 80s, it was carried all sorts of ways without problems
  6. I played some goth / alternative / fetish clubs such as Torture Garden a few years back, with the Texas Chainsaw Orchestra. All sorts going on around the place but without fail all very polite and safe environments, where the artists were treated with respect. I'll take that any day over the boozed up coked up random pub crowd
  7. Have just released an album of space/psychedelic rock. This track is a tribute to Syd Barrett. [video:youtube]
  8. Absolutely. I use a few of the SK2 EV's but there's plenty on there I wish I could swap out for something more useful - like that awful "jet noise" synth. And unless I'm mistaken you have to delete the whole EV group, you can't switch out individual ones?
  9. Not during a gig, but post-gig this last Saturday. Driving through Coventry town centre at 1am, very slow as there are drunk pedestrians all over the place. There's a tap on the window and a young lady says "If I give you £20 can I get in the back of your van and you drop me off at the curry place?"
  10. Don't buy the Behringer! Had one a couple of years back. wouldn't recommend tehm at all. For rock groups when I'm not using a rotary I use a Peavey KB5
  11. Yep, had exactly this happen too SK2 Sound Prolem My SK2 is currently back at Hammond in the Netherlands, last info I had they thought it might be "one of the smaller ic components. This will mean a board replacement" thanks for the input and link - so did yours function properly again afterwards? mine has been perfect since then... what is a "smaller ic component? and when you say board replacement is that as in keyboard or as in circuit board? Hi The SK2 is now back and working fine - Hammond UK said it was down to "a power supply component issue" cheers
  12. It was intermittent for a couple of weeks, then there was no sound permanently. Luckily I had the XK1 as back up. I don;t know lol, that was what the guys at Hammond UK told me - I've had to send it away to them to get it fixed. No idea what causes it, the organ is flight-cased and handled well. When I get it back I'll let you know what the problem was

  14. Can anyone help with low volume on some of the extra voices on the SK2? In particular I'm using one of the synth sounds for Shine on You Crazy Diamond, having trouble getting a decent level out of it. Thanks! Oh - and just looking at the latest library download...jazz guitar?!?! Is there anyone who would use that? How about some more synth or orchestral sounds?
  15. Hi folks! Long time lurker here, hope to start posting a bit more and joining in the fun.... My name is Rob Poyton, late 40s (how did that happen!). Started playing piano as a kid, jopined my first band at 18 - playing a Godwin organ and Roland string machine! Currently working pretty much full-time in music, dividing my time between a Deep Purple tribute, various function / soul bands and an originals surf / garage outift as well as a goth rock outfit 13 Candles! Also planning on writing / recording an album later this year (purely self indulgent) Love all things Hammond - the usual heros, Jimmy Smith, Jon Lord, etc. Have had the pleasure of meeting Brian Auger and Don Airey recently, both outstanding players and true gentlemen! Still have my old chopped T200 that I gigged with in the 80s and recently sold a chopped H100 (too heavy to gig!). Most times now I go out with an XK1 and a Solton Turbo rotary amp, use Roland / Korg synths for strings, piano, etc cheers! Rob
