Hi all, I've been lurking here for about a month now so I guess I should introduce myself. My name's Alex, I'm 20 years old and I live in Montreal (eh?). I'm running what I like to call the college kit, a living room keyboard (Yamaha DGX-505) run through a guitar multi-effect pedal (Digitech RP150) and coming out of either a big Yorkville bass amp or a tiny old ion cube. All stuff that required a little compromise but the thing at least makes noise. I was in a proggy metal band called Castalia through a lot of high school that unfortunately broke apart when we all went to different schools. Our music can be found at www.myspace.com/castaliaband I only just got with a guitarist last week so am now looking for musicians from around Montreal to get something going over the summer. My influences include, but aren't limited to, Jordan Rudess, John Lord, Eric Clapton, Stevie Ray Vaughan, and their respective bands. I also really like making mashups of various popular music, especially video game music. I'm completely ignorant when it comes to keyboard equipment which is what led me here in the first place. Any hints, tips or thoughts are appreciated and I'll keep reading up on my stuff. UMNV
