Ah, I get that question a lot, and I never know the answer since the nickname got stuck on me while I wasn't present. Some of my (now) ex-bandmates just started calling me like that, for reasons unknown to me. It was more than 10 years ago. People rarely call me Ivan, I'm Pale to almost everyone. Except my mother But it has nothing to do with being pale in color. I'm not from a english speaking country, so the context is all different. Pronunciation too.

Heya! My name is Ivan, but people call me Pale I've been playing for the past 16, no wait, 17 years. I'm 26, electrical engineer by day, gigging keyboard musician by night ( or at least by weekend ) Gear: Fender Rhodes Mark II, Yamaha p120, Hammond xk1 + Elkatone 610 leslie, Hohner Melodica, Stelzhammer baby grand. I primarily play blues,soul,funk with a twist of jazz and fusion. Influences: Dr.John, Stevie Wonder, Ray Charles, Billy Powell, Billy Preston, Herbie Hancock, Ramsey Lewis etc etc etc
