  1. I hope they survive.
I really love my Cobalt 8, as well as the Modal app.
If anything, I think people are apprehensive because the Modal synths are so capable of many things…and they down use the same glitzy, high tech marketing as do the bigger companies.

    The sound speaks for itself.

  2. Is there a demo video of the "Synthy" sounds of the Fantom? It would help cover many needs in my rig and save me from bringing my Mac out for smaller gigs...

I've been going between The '06 and the Modx+ 6, for that elusive "second board" to use with NY Electro. SO I've got Organs, EP, AP et all all covered by the Electro.

I'm sure this has been asked many times before...

  3. He certainly left his mark on us all for sure.

I had the opportunity to hang with him and his dad at an "organ summit" in PA, many years ago.

They were both so laid back and cool to hang with. No snobbery, just pure mojo!

  4. I've messed with Sunvox; great program, lots of fun, and it was free last time I checked,

I also have Renoise which, in my opinion, is the king of them all.

You can get a free demo and try it.

But, apart from experimenting, I never really used either as a compositional tool; although, it's on my bucket list to actually dig in and learn the program and try to apply it to my regular workflow. (Renoise also makes a program called Redux which basically runs in any daw as a plugin).

Try the demo! There are spotty videos here and there on YouTube; but really, like any other program, you just need to get under the hood and mess around.

Let me know how you like it!

  5. Hey Folks,

I’m looking for a quick setup for a lot of gigs where I don’t want to bring my computer and run VST synths etc.

lately we’ve been doing a lot of quick shows and the setup time is just not there…

I use an Electro 5D for organs, pianos etc.

so the top board would be for strings, brass and other sounds of that sort. Even synth pads etc.  the more the variety and quality, the better…
I’d like to stick to the price range of these two (or possibly less, if i went with the Yamaha then probably MX49 instead).
any options are greatly welcome! I would like to purchase ASAP.
    thanks in advance,

    Tom

  6. Hi Mate!

    Thanks so much!!!
Yes, that would probably do the trick...

I guess I'd need longer power cables from each section but that's not a big deal. I need to see what the various voltages are of each thing and see which is best suited.

    But that's a strong possibility...

If they had one twice the price and it had selectable output voltages, that would even be better.

(The one in the pic says 240 volts, I guess it's for use overseas..)

  7. Hello folks,

As the title suggests...I'm seeking a solution for a universal power adapter that will be robust enough and versatile to handle the different requirements (connection types, voltages, etc.) of various pieces of gear that use wall warts.

(Years ago I had gotten one from Radio Shack, long gone...)

Any suggestions as to where to look for this?

    I found this on Amazon:
    https://www.amazon.com/SoulBay-Universal-Switching-Selectable-Electronics/dp/B01N7RS0NG/ref=asc_df_B01N7RS0NG/?tag=hyprod-20&linkCode=df0&hvadid=216534554317&hvpos=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=10744092856043504940&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=c&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=9004242&hvtargid=pla-351409027577&psc=1

But is it robust enough? I'd like something a little better...

Amazon shows others as well, with different voltages, etc.

I'd just like to find ONE adaptor that will cover almost any situation (and then buy a few of them!)

It would be great to have as a backup on a gig...

Maybe even use a few of them in a pedalboard to make a more robust solution...

    Thanks in advance!
    Tom
