Yes, my morse code is a little rusty that late at night. I meant to say "Peace out, you did good."

    That would be:

    .--.  .  .-   -.-.  .        ---  ..-  -     --..--      -.--  ---   ..-     -..  ..  -..     --.  ---  ---  -..

I haven't been on the air for very long time, but occasionally I'll go to an SDR web site and copy a little CW for the heck of it 😁

  2. I'm just wondering if you are trying to get more out than you'd be putting in.  I don't know very much but do you need 24-bits to make a copy of a 1/4" tape at 3 3/4 ips or 7 1/2 ips?

I digitized my home recordings by borrowing a friends Teac open reel deck (my Sony isn't in good shape), recorded them on my PC as WAV, and burned them to CDs.  Good enough for government work 😁

  3. I might be the senior citizen here.  I learned 1401 Autocoder in school in 1967, BAL and PL/I before graduating.  My first job was programming a Burroughs B300 in Advanced Assembler.  I retired 17 years ago after a career of programing business applications on mainframes using COBOL and CICS , and A/S400 COBOL.  The only programming I do now is an occasional EXCEL VBA app for myself and a friend.  But to get to the point, I agree with the others that Python is probably the way to go... at least that's what I hear.  I fooled around with it a little on my PC and a Raspberry, but I never found a use for either the Raspberry or Python so I didn't pursue it very far.

I do know that the person doesn't necessarily have to be a good person. But this year, I'd say it is. And given how she's been so influential in so many ways, I feel she's a great choice. You couldn't help but hear about her all the time, and that's so much because she's been so inspiring to people in so many different ways. That's not difficult to understand at all.

Also, I'd like to point out that Hamas is not a person.

    Neither is a computer.

I don't think she qualified under that criteria.

We can disagree and still be friends 😁

  5. Given that the "person" of the year recognition is suppose to represent the person, or thing (in 1982 it was the personal computer) that had the most influence on the news during the year, I believe that this recognition should have gone to Hamas.  Note that the recognition is NOT always for an heroic or otherwise good person, after all, in 1938, the person of the year was Hitler, probably the most evil person of the 20th century.   Taylor Swift?  Are you kidding me? 🤣 🙄

  6. I stream with the TIVO Stream 4K.   Input is via my Wi-Fi.  Output is HDMI.  For my bedroom set, the HDMI goes directly to the TV.  The setup in my den is a little more complicated, perhaps due to the age of the equipment, but, the HDMI from the TIVO goes into an HDMI audio extractor which also passes the HDMI from the TIVO to the TV.  It's been a lot of years, so I don't remember all the details, but the TV would not pass the audio from the TIVO to my AV receiver (but can be heard on the TV).  So, this is where the HDMI audio extractor comes in.  It passes the audio from the TIVO to the AV receiver via a TSO (optical fiber cable).  My old AV receiver does not have HDMI.  It all works for me and gives me 5.1 Dolby Digital audio when the streaming source provides it.

  7. A favorite of mine for decades:

    The Rivieras - California Sun

As a bonus, and very shameless self promotion, here is my cover.  I play the guitar, the vocal is my long time friend and former neighbor, Jerry McClain of Pratt and McClain who recorded the "Happy Days" TV show theme.  Organ and drums came from a midi file of unknown origin.   (I also did the the video 😁).
