  1. Maybe the quake was foreshock and the big one is coming... NJ falling into the ocean 😮 wx here in Los Angeles is rainy, sunny, cloudy, windy and cold today. Snow level down to 3,000 feet. A little bit of everything. It was 82 a couple of days ago.
  2. Have you seen a doctor about this? It may be nothing, but it could be something serious. https://www.google.com/search?client=firefox-b-1-d&q=cold+extremities
  3. I've been a proponent of hydrogen fuel cars since I first heard of them being developed in the 70s. From what I can see their biggest problem is the massive amount of space needed for their onboard fuel tanks.
  4. That would be: .--. . .- -.-. . --- ..- - --..-- -.-- --- ..- -.. .. -.. --. --- --- -.. I haven't been on the air for very long time, but occasionally I'll go to an SDR web site and copy a little CW for the heck of it 😁
  5. He did a Zoom presentation for our radio club. Nice guy. He will be missed.:
  6. Standing by to be flamed... pineapple and pizza

  8. I'm just wondering if you are trying to get more out than you'd be putting in. I don't know very much but do you need 24-bits to make a copy of a 1/4" tape at 3 3/4 ips or 7 1/2 ips? I digitized my home recordings by borrowing a friends Teac open reel deck (my Sony isn't in good shape), recorded them on my PC as WAV, and burned them to CDs. Good enough for government work 😁
  9. I might be the senior citizen here. I learned 1401 Autocoder in school in 1967, BAL and PL/I before graduating. My first job was programming a Burroughs B300 in Advanced Assembler. I retired 17 years ago after a career of programing business applications on mainframes using COBOL and CICS , and A/S400 COBOL. The only programming I do now is an occasional EXCEL VBA app for myself and a friend. But to get to the point, I agree with the others that Python is probably the way to go... at least that's what I hear. I fooled around with it a little on my PC and a Raspberry, but I never found a use for either the Raspberry or Python so I didn't pursue it very far.
  10. One of the companies I worked for required us to read a book called "The Goal". It stated that the goal of any company was to make a profit for the owner.
  11. Neither is a computer. I don't think she qualified under that criteria. We can disagree and still be friends 😁
  12. Given that the "person" of the year recognition is suppose to represent the person, or thing (in 1982 it was the personal computer) that had the most influence on the news during the year, I believe that this recognition should have gone to Hamas. Note that the recognition is NOT always for an heroic or otherwise good person, after all, in 1938, the person of the year was Hitler, probably the most evil person of the 20th century. Taylor Swift? Are you kidding me? 🤣 🙄
  13. My parents joined one when we got our first console "Hi-Fi", I think around 1961. Two of the records they let me get were the Bobby Rydell/Chubby Checker, and the Elvis Presley Blue Hawaii LPs 😁
  14. I'm just a hobbyist, but I bought a piece of Behringer gear once and would never do it again. It was a small mixer that wobbled on a flat surface. I got my money back.
