I still have a QSPP, my beloved QS8 with a heavier action keybed (FATAR sent us one to try out and I loved it, so I kept it), a QSR, a NanoBass, two Andromedae - one Red, one Blue….and all the QCards.

The team that's making me less of an NFL Grinch is Detroit. What a wonderful story. Impossible to not root for them and that town no matter who your team is.
Agreed.
I’m a native Philadelphian, so I’m not feeling that NFL Grinchy this year…but I am definitely psyched for the Lions and their fans.

I’ve tried Luna when I picked up my Apollo x8p a few years ago so it was already free for me.. I have a whole bunch of UA plugins as well as AUs, so I was all set there.
I thought it was easy enough to move around on…but honestly, I didn’t see or feel that much of a reason to movie away from the DAW I’ve been using for all these years (DP).

Just saw TH open for, then play with Seal this past summer at the Greek Theatre. Not only did I get to see Video Killed the Radio Star live, but he did his original Pre-Yes version of Into The Lens. 😎
I love his music - psyched to get this record!

I’ve re-recorded a whole bunch of tunes I originally did in the 20th century. I’ve always enjoyed revisiting that older material with my current perspective, skill set and equipment.
The Funky Young Monks link in my sig is just such a project. 😎

Question - Am I remembering right that this site (or those behind it) now sell (or have affiliations in some way regarding them) plugins?
I was poking around and don't see anything like that.Yes, a few lines. Click the MPN Shop link in the nav bar at the top of the page…
…or use this link.I’m fairly sure there will be some of them going on sale this month.

How many guitar players does it take to change a light bulb?
One to change the bulb, 9 to say "I can do that".
How many folk singers does it take to change a light bulb?
Three. One to change the bulb, and two to write a song about the old bulb. How many drummers?
None. There’s a machine that does that now.
Bass players?
None. The keyboard player does it with their left hand.
Lead singers?
One. They hold the bulb and the whole world revolves around them.
OT - how many psychiatrists?
Only one…but the bulb really has to want to change.

Am I the only person who's been cool with iLok?
No, I am as well. Once they let users authorize to the host machine/cloud, that made it much less of an issue for me…
…although, in all fairness, I never had any problems with it when it required the dongle.

Sources: Clippers land James Harden in blockbuster 76ers trade
The 76ers sent Harden, P.J. Tucker, and Filip Petrusev to the Clippers for Marcus Morris, Robert Covington, Nic Batum, KJ Martin, a 2028 unprotected first-round pick, two second-round picks, a 2029 pick swap and an additional first-round pick from the Oklahoma City Thunder.Works for me. SIxers got a nice haul for Harden. 😎
Anyone wanna guess how long it’ll take Harden to grow disgruntled with LAC because he doesn’t get the ball enough? 🤔 🙄

I’m a hardcore Phillies fan…but I think I love Game 7 in baseball more than any other sport.
I’m hoping the Citizen’s Bank Park factor helps tomorrow.
Go Phillies!

I read a whole bunch of Tom Swift books when I was a kid.
I’d love to own a Taylor guitar at some point.

I have a 7.1 surround system, and I recently started listening to the ATMOS mixes on some of my Blu-Ray surround discs.
Gotta say, I’m kind of digging it.
With 7.1 and normal 5.1 mixes, I either get the back and side speakers coupled or I get some DSP in the back two. With the ATMOS mixes, all seven sneakers function as distinct parts of the system, with purposed content placed and/or moving smoothly.
I also have to say I find the bass integration of the ATMOS mixes to be more coherent than the conventional 5.1 mixes.
Anyone else have experience with ATMOS on a home system?

I’m thinking traditional trade shows in general are kind of teetering on the edge of the chopping block. I know several companies who’ve said they feel like there are much more productive ways to spend their marketing dollars.
I believe that a lot of folks are watching to see what happens at Winter NAMM. I’m guessing that a bunch of manufacturers are waiting to see if WNAMM’s return to January has a positive effect on the attendance numbers.
Looking at how few manufacturers are exhibiting at AES NYC this month, I’ll be interested to see if this is correct.

Alesis Q Cards
in The Keyboard Corner
Posted
I have one other unreleased QCard. 😎
It is a series of industrial and nature samples that were sort of a predecessor to Tracktion’s BioTek. We made it with Arne Schultz, who did a lot of sounds for Yamaha as well. Brother Taiho Yamada (currently Director of Marketing for Sequential) had a major hand in this project.
Besides all the individual sounds that we sculpted into instruments, we also made a bunch of loops that were all sorts of fun to play with.
I used it a while back on this cover of The Light Dies Down On Broadway. It’s all the percussion loops you hear in the tune.
