I'm in Southern California. It's gorgeous today. We've gotten more rains in the past week, and we've had unusual weather patterns and some enormous rains this winter.

I also appreciate the value on being able to read up (from sites where it’s fairly easy to see the info should be reliable), and especially to be able to do things like watch videos on ailments and their possible remedies.
I just had a procedure last week which I managed to find fairly well captured on video before going through it. I found it so much cooler to be able to visualize what’s going to happen rather than leaving my imagination to run free… 😬

Here’s my version of this type of thing - when a band I’m in wants to do a song that requires most of the learning and/or programming be done by me…and, inevitably, after a whole lot of prep on my part, when we do try to play it live (with no rehearsal), they’re nowhere near as prepared as I am, and we end up only doing it once or twice.
A couple examples would be Kashmir and Won’t Get Fooled Again. The latter was really annoying for me - I had to have the organ sound triggered by LFO when I was the only one playing, then switch to manual 8th notes modulated by a phaser when the band was playing because our drummer refused to play with a click.
However, the worst one was having a club owner who was friends with our singer request that we learn to play Pink Floyd’s Dogs. Waaaay too long for a non-Floyd bar gig, way too much keyboard programming and not a lot of effort required from the other members…so, I’d have had to spend a bunch of time programming sounds for a 20 min song so we could play it at one gig because one guy requested it…
… and I even already knew how to play it end to end acoustic guitar.
I refused. Hilarity ensued. 😒
I even offered to do an unplugged version, but noooooo - they wanted an “authentic” version.🙄

Chargers are cleaning house! Mike Williams cut, Keenan Allen traded to Da Bears? For a 4th round pick?
Harbaugh making his presence felt. 🤔😳

I wonder a bit about the new ELP tour...
Using stand-in players, or holograms of Lake & Emerson?
We laughed…umm, sorry…talked about it a bit in the Keyboard Corner forum.

Y’see, this thread’s title shows I’m an old guy. I see PSA and do not think Public Service Announcement, I think Prostate Specific Antigen.

After the suicide, Greg Lake had said that Keith's depression started during the making of "Works".
I’ve heard about that as well. Apparently, he wanted very badly to be taken as a serious composer, and the less than enthusiastic reception of his concerto really crushed him. I seem to recall an account of Leonard Bernstein hearing it, who apparently was not terribly impressed.
I saw an interview of him talking about his legacy, and he was unhappy that he was most recognized for Lucky Man, which he…disliked. He asked something like, “When people ask me what I’ve written that they’d recognize, what am I going to do - whistle Tarkus?”

As far as I know, Keith suffered from pretty serious depression. If nothing else, his right hand/arm were damaged to the point that he couldn’t really use his pinky or ring finger to play keyboards.
I saw a couple of his last performances, and could clearly hear the frustration in his playing. I can’t even begin to imagine how torturous that must have been for him.

that would be great…. and maybe set up sections for Yamaha, Roland, Mainstage, et al? Maybe they already exist, I just haven’t drilled down
No, they don’t.
For me to create a new forum, I’d have to feel like the forum would get/bring its own traffic/community. I’ve started a few over the years. Most have not worked, even those that had an existing community of people it appeared would like an online place to hang.

Some last for months and then rise from the dead 2 years later! The site represents plenty of work for its keepers as it is. I wouldn't want to kill the golden goose.
In the case of something like the Korg forum we’re discussing here, it wouldn’t be a subforum of KC. It’d ideally be its own forum with its own community.
MPN effectively has unlimited digital real estate. I’m essentially offering space to another community if they need help.

If the Korg forum needs a new home, MPN would probably be able to host it.

Perhaps Schlereth is right that Darnold’s time on the 49ers finally provided him with proper NFL training.
I’m inclined to doubt that. As far as I can tell, Mr. Darnold has been in the NFL for more than a few years.
I think he just doesn’t have the right stuff.
As brother Geoff says above - we’ll see soon enough.

With TEN adding Tony Pollard, Derrick Henry is headed to the Ravens (who lost Gus Edwards to the Chargers). Devin Singletary is also on the move to the Giants to replace (?) Barkley.
In QB news, Jameis Winston is now a Brown, Drew Lock a Giant, Gardner Minshew a Raider, Marcus Mariota a Commander, Tyron Taylor a Jet and Jacoby Brissett returns to NE.

In two inter-divisional moves:
Aaron Jones to the Vikings...
...and Saquon Barkley to Philly.
Vikings have also picked up Sam Darnold to fill the hole left by Kirk Cousins. I wonder how that'll work out... 🤔😳

How should we categorize 1-5 no third power chords that those funny guitar folk seem to like so much?
Those are way fun to play, especially with a healthy amount of crunch.
I identify as a keyboard player and a guitar player and a bass player and a singer…but I don’t feel conflicted. ☺️dB

@Dave Bryce, what are the other banned words? I mean, with an asterisk or two where needed, of course.
At this point, literally all of them have to do with some version or ingredient of (intentionally misspelled) keeeto Guummmyyz.

Thanks so much for the birthday wishes, guys! 🥰
It was a bit of a challenging one this year. I just got through with an old guy medical procedure, and unfortunately we had to say goodbye to one of our pups on Monday…but by and large, I do still enjoy celebrating another trip around the sun. ☺️
