fractal909msn.com
I recently acquired a Kurzweil 1000PX and am very happy with it execept for one major thing. I cannot get it to recognize sustains through my midi controller. All the other modules in my rack are receiving the sustain just fine. Is there a setting on the Kurzweil that needs to be changed? I downloaded the manuel but that does not seem to help.
zeronyne
I can't remember what the MIDI pages look like in the 1000 modules, but look for a page that reroutes controller numbers. 64 may have been sent somewhere else for some insane reason. Good luck! "For instance" is not proof.
Prague
Since it is used, make sure that Control Number 64 is set for Sustain in the Programs. I think each Program also has a On/Off selection for the Sustain pedal. Use the MIDIScope function on the K1000. Press the sending sustain pedal to make sure the K1000 is receiving the message. Jeff Irok
I think dB said he programed some of the patches on the PX...maybe he has some insight? I don't recall having the problem you have. I played out with my PX-1000 for a couple years. I still have it at home...nice little box! Check out my band's site at: The Key Components! ITGITC
Reset the unit if you haven't already. There's no special MIDI mapping for sustain. The 1000PX plays well with others. I won't part with mine. It's kept in a temperature/humidity controlled environment under a dust cover. Jeff Irok
Reading around the web re: these units, there are tons of people who STILL swear by them. I see postings where people have several units and link them together to increase their polyphony. If only it was sampled in true stereo.... Check out my band's site at: The Key Components!
