Congressman Ryan Releases Policy Album on Spotify

Album Outlines Ryan's Vision for America

Youngstown, OH â Today, Congressman Tim Ryan released a policy album on the popular digital music streaming service Spotify, titled 'A New and Better Agenda.' Ryan is the first political candidate to use a digital streaming music service in order to release a campaign platform album.

I'm not quite sure what to make of this...

Considering the meager payouts from streaming, I predict he will make $0.17 total.

I doubt he's in it for the money, but as a way to show he's a hip daddy-o who's groovy about the youth vote.

I can see where this is going, though...like oil companies hiring smooth speakers to do an audiobook-like reading about their vision for the future of energy. Then Spotify will have to decide what's an ad and what's not. Ryan has found a clever way to get around paying for an infomercial on radio or TV, but I think the law of unintended consequences is going to kick in before too long...

I completely agree with you, had nothing of substance to offer since we will have to wait and see what actually happens.

We all know money talks but it also speaks many languages.

Spotify will consider this and do something/nothing.

Meanwhile, there are LOTS of streaming services and there will be other attempts to take advantage of the platform.

So i made an attempt to toss a bit of humor into the thread, nothing more. :- D

It took a chunk of my life to get here and I am still not sure where "here" is.

That is one hell of a great quote!!!! Brilliant.

Maybe the solution is that people have to do their own podcasts, but they can apply to Spotify to be included on the site. Although that would probably de-evolve to "Sure, you can be on the site, but there's a $500 monthly subscription fee for...uh..."shipping and handling."

I think it's understood that whenever someone mentions making from Spotify, it is of necessity humor :)
