Steve Nathan
I"m still helping our friend clear out her husbands gear. I"ve got most of it figured out, There are 2 American Power Conversion UPS-250s that I assume he plugged an old computer into. Are these anything?? Should I sell these for her too, or are they not worth the trouble. Thx thx thx Steve Quote Don't rush me. MoodyBluesKeys
That is a rather old UPS, although it is possible to (fairly easy) change the battery. There are a number on Ebay at the moment, with some listed for more than one can buy a brand new 350 or even 500 (plus fairly heavy shipping). If the battery is still good and the unit works, would be of use to power something with light draw like a typical keyboard. Probably not going to bring much in terms of $$, although a local sale (without shipping) might provide a few $$. I've got a couple of these that I've changed out batteries as needed (there are battery sources considerably cheaper than APC, though they don't usually last quite as long). One is running my wife's PC2X Kurzweil, the other is in the shop running a PC3X and either PC361 or SK1 depending on which I have on the stand. They will run the keyboard long enough to take care of short power bumps so that a reboot isn't needed.
