ElmerJFudd
"Following nerve damage, Icelandic composer/producer/musician was unable to play the piano. With his Ghost Pianos, he gets that ability back, through intelligent custom software and mechanical pianos. Its moving to hear him tell the story (to the CNN viral video series) with, naturally, the obligatory shots of Icelandic mountains and close-up images of mechanical pianos working. No complaints:" [video:youtube] [video:youtube] Read more on this here: http://cdm.link/2019/06/olafur-arnalds-ghost-pianos/ Quote Yamaha CP88, Casio PX-
David Emm
That's a long & pricey road to take, but the results are inarguably enjoyable. I suspect many-to-most of us have had Keyboard God dreams that went awry in one way or another. Nerve damage doused my efforts in that direction, too, but after the initial shock, I accepted that A) I was never going to be the new Jon Lord or the like anyway and B) I had near-sci-fi options for composing. I'm not about to recreate Saint-Saens' "Organ Symphony" in a Wendy Carlos style, but using a DAW & accomodating controllers means I'm still liberated by having a bouquet of organs and a lot more at hand. It *is* about the gear, except for when its *not*.
