  1. I am totally rediscovering Blonde Redhead's Misery is a Butterfly prior to their new album release on Sept. 2nd. If you haven't listened to this album, you so very much owe it to yourself! Niels
  2. This is my humble but efficient and powerful rig for the pop band that I play in, Who Is Louis: http://imagizer.imageshack.us/v2/640x480q90/843/30esn.jpg Beneath the mixer is a RNC-1 compressor. It really, really brings out some punch in the Nord.
  3. Just realized that somebody heard the music - and the fact that you guys like it just melts my heart. Thanks! I'll see to it that more songs will be recorded at some point, although it'll probably be a little while, there are lot of projects going at the time
  4. Just thought I would add another contribution to this thread, since me and the two other guys in the trio made some additional recordings. Here are two of my compositions. Norwegian Love Siberian
  5. Sounds like a good plan. I was kinda imagining the same about a heavy breakfast jumpin' up and down in your belly. I don't have any fruit in the house just now, so I'll grab a carrot. Or better yet, get hold of some fruit!
  6. I've got a question. I've just returned from downtown, where I have equipped myself with some running gear and assorted garments suited for physical expression. I'm going to hit the road tomorrow morning, but the question is - do I have breakfast before or after running? Please help out a newbie in this realm!
  7. For something along those lines, I like to highlight Nils Landgren Funk Unit. Awesome. For album references I'm most keen on Funky Abba and Live in Stockholm. I'll keep an eye on this thread though - I'm poor at keeping myself up to date on this sort of music. That's it for mainstream funk for my part. You edit your post - I edit mine For something somewhat along the lines of the Headhunters, only with a more funky vein, check out the album Wired Up by Bentzon Brotherhood. Highly recommendable, I'm a diehard lover of this album. It would also be wrong of me not to mention: - Kresten Osgood: Hammond Rens. With Lonnie Smith and Michael Blake. - Joshua Redman: Momentum Some epic grooving in these albums. The latter more on the funky side of things, former more in the jazzy department.
  8. It's not that every synth I come across should have the same sound as a Moog - now, that would be boring. But where I am right now, the sounds I need would simply sound ideal through that moog filter - when I tried out the LP I was wowed 'til my pants dropped - which is why this otherwise odd comparison is valid for me.
  9. Meh, it looks a little toyish. Also, I would've preferred it with 37 keys. It loses some points to the Little Phatty in looks, not having that Moog sound and in having an externl wallwart IMO - but on the other hand it's more lightweight, has aftertouch, has some audio features not found in the LP and will cost quite a penny less than the Moog. Considerations... I for one have to try it out before settling on anything.
  10. Thought I'd chime in. Been here a little while, never really thought of this. I'm 17 years and live in Denmark. Started playing keys at 5, began from the very bottom. No, the very bottom. My first tune consisted of 12 rhythmic pressdowns of C4. Went into classical, but I sorta got tired of it and eventually quit the lessons. Joined my very first band for a year playing rock/blues, then went to a continuation school that really allowed creative talents like acting, dance, music and art to flower. I took lessons back up again and started playing jazz! So, I'm about to start in my third year in high school. I've recently been given admission to a conservatory-preparational music school, and until I start there, I'll just stick with my bands: the piano-b-d trio and Bearsurprise, the local rock/funk/jazz/fusion/hardcore/balkan/techno group. Oh, and gear talk. These days my room houses two Nords, but I consider replacing the Stage 88 with a cheaper, more piano-feeling lightweight axe like FP4 or P155. Drooling for a melodica and something Voyagerish.
