  1. Just thinking out loud... How about a music rest that is a LED touch screen. It could give you controls and/or it can hold music when needed.
  2. My supercar interests came to mind when I saw interface. Besides Nest, Ferrari Purosangue makes use of this circular interface.
  3. I started my daily practice by recording self-eval. You could call this one Baby Steps.
  4. Randomly found this clip. Jim's solo starts around the 6 minute mark.
  5. Ended morning practice with self-evaluation one take recording on my N2. https://soundcloud.com/pete36251/there-is-no-greater-love edit: learning by doing and making mistakes.
  6. Presented to me on YT. Great cover. Lead vocalist kills it and keyboards get all the sounds.
  7. That's why I like YT, plus I'm not sure I want a pet that will out live me.
  8. That's great. Honestly, I never heard this song before. I never get tired of that phrase.
  9. I ponder this question everyday. Sometimes I don't even know until I start playing.
  10. Watching that interview, YT offered me this. I sadly, didn't follow him much after Song of the Sun. He definitely left his stamp on music. That little music idea he uses in a lot of his compositions (ba-da ba-da, ba-da, ba-da ...) IMHO is unique in its simplicity and I can't say I ever noticed in any other artist.
  11. This topic makes me a little sad. As a late teen, I was playing in a band and we would dream about visiting 48th St in NYC (from Massachusetts.) We finally decided and took redeye train for a one day pilgrimage to NYC. Walking around Broadway at 4 AM, hanging outside the Dakotas, hoping to see John Lennon, walking through Central Park, visiting 48th St and loving it, then going to observation deck of WTC, which just opened. One of my favorite memories as a musician; all due to the music stores on 48th St. I visited them a few more times before mail-order and better local stores emerged.
  12. This CP4 has been posted on and off for a few years. I know you're all set. It has been MIA, since you've posted your desire to own one. Anyway, seller probably didn't want to ship it. https://boston.craigslist.org/gbs/msg/d/chelsea-yamaha-cp4-88-key-stage-piano/7722133592.html
  13. RIP. Song of the Sun is and was a favorite of mine. Weather Report vibe, but original to Jim and great improvisations.
  14. Reading this thread reminded me of this Jeremy Siskind video. I think this would be a good place to begin.
