  1. It was recorded with the Synclavier, as well as other synths. Dennis Lambert produced, co-wrote it Walter Orange & Franne Golde. Peter Wolf programmed and played the bass line. Dennis Lambert did an interview regarding the song and working with the Commodores. It was a magazine interview and can't find it online.
  2. One my favorite Michael Brecker solos. It's from Neil Larsen's Jungle Fever album (1978). Last Tango In Paris
  3. Jim Beard interview with Henry Hey. Great profile of his career and his creative muse. RIP Jim.
  4. Deniece Williams - Let's Hear It for the Boy (George Duke - all keyboards and producer) Al Jarreau - Let's Pretend
  5. 12 Monkeys - TV Series 2015–2018 "Follows the journey of a time traveler from the post-apocalyptic future who appears in present day on a mission to locate and eradicate the source of a deadly plague that will nearly destroy the human race." The initial plot is similar to the movie. However, it develops into a very different story. Imo, one of the finest time travel si-fi shows. Many surprises and plot twists that are not contrived plot 'fixes'. The first season starts slow, but later picks up the action. And, a great series ending last episode. The producers/writers ended this series with intelligence and class.
  6. Egberto Gismonti Bill Evans Chick Corea
  7. Really sad and a great lost. RIP Joey.
  8. 1. Quincy Jones One Hundred Ways Greg Phillinganes' Minimoog solo at 2:53. 2. Al Jarreau Mornin' David Foster's Minimoog solo at 2:40. 3. The Band All La Glory Garth's Lowrey solo at 2:00. 4. Basia New Day For You Danny White's DX7 solo at 2:22. 5. Crowded House Don't Dream It's Over Mitchell Froom's organ solo at 1:55. 6. Graf - Haydee Minimoog solo outro at 3:15.
  9. Santana - Incident at Neshabur Released in 1970. Santana doesn't get the credit for pioneering the "jazz-fusion" movement. Given credit for pioneering "Latin Rock", but was more than that. Colosseum II - Desperado - This British band was started by drummer John Hiseman. After disbanding his horn/blues-rock band ( influenced by Chicago). He was highly inspired by The Mahavishnu Orchestra and RTF to start a new band. Desperado performed by Gary Moore - guitar, Don Airey - KB, John Mole - bass. A highly underrated rock-fusion group. (rock musicians influenced by jazz harmonies and composition). Blood Sweat and Tears - Inner Crisis. I believe this version of the band was THE "Jazz-Rock" group, at the time. ( The early version of group was blues/rock). However, a prototypical "Jazz-Fusion" band is dominated by the electric guitar, imo. Hence, The Mahavishnu Orchestra is the most influential and, arguably, the first "Jazz-Fusion" group.
  10. Hawaiian musician (not the Beach Boys - Mike Love). Great blend of reggae, rock, RnB, jazz, etc. [video:youtube]
  11. Sue had a perspective of piano musicianship that I found refreshing. I know a few classical piano teacher colleagues that have a genuine interest in jazz and improvisation, yet lack the skills and knowledge to impress. However, many have impressive backgrounds in classical performance and reading skills. Sue was like that. I remember her critique of one of my reharm posts that delved into the technical aspect of my playing, like a good piano teacher would. I really appreciated her comments. RIL Sue.
  12. The Elder Scrolls Online Free play this week on Steam. No obligations. It's like Skyrim, but is a MMO. However, you can still play solo RPG or join with a group for the main story quests. There's also a competitive MMO you can join called Battlegrounds that's like World of Warcraft. Lots of fun. Playing it on PC. Here's the link on Steam. 4 days left for the free play. 60% off to purchase Standard Edition - $7.99 https://store.steampowered.com/app/306130/The_Elder_Scrolls_Online/ [video:youtube]
  13. So sorry for your loss, Grey. Rest In Love, Olivia.
  14. "until Mr. Moj resolved it for us." Thanks, glad I could help you find the right CC recording.
  15. Evan's "Consecration- The Final Recordings" has four tracks of Polka Dots and Moonbeams. They start as solo piano then bassist Marc Johnson & Joe LaBarbera join in, but very subtle and quiet. Maybe this is what you heard?
