Myles, I appreciate the feedback on the Super Reverb. Is that tube really all that's responsible for the diferrence between the old super reverbs and the reissue super reverbs? It seems like the tone pots have a diferrent "throw" to them, and that the reverb is also not the same.

Hey Miles, Do you have a favorite line up of tubes for the original black face super reverbs? Mine is a '64. I originally had sylvania's in there, and 6072's(I think) as the preamp tubes. It sounded great. A year ago I got some sovtek replacements, but the amp no longer has the same kind of "dynamics/ pleasing overtones."
