I'm about to master a project that's destined for 7" vinyl, and I've never really had to work for that medium. Could anyone offer any suggestions about any special EQ, level, compression
ect that vinyl requires? Do some frequencies cause more record skips? HELP!

Because of physics, low frequencies cause overcuts (which lead to skips) more than high.

Limiting only gets you so far...

But don't let this stop you. I always hated mastering people telling me to filter/attenuate the bass. I did a record in, oh 1978, called "The Last Record Album" where we had Bill Payne double the bass an octave *below* and it really thundered. Doug Sax mastered it almost flat. Maybe it skipped on shitty systems, but, hey...
