LX88
I have two Rolands that I absolutely love. RD300GX and Roland FP10 The 300GX is in my opinion a classic. The reason I like the Superioir Grand sample is because there is so much control over upper harmonics. On most Yamahas of that period you get three degrees of touch sensitivity. On the RD300GX there are approximately 40. I often use the heavier settings because I like pure tones predominately and like to tell the difference between soft and louder attack. I love the action on the 300GX and also really like the Rhodes it has. It is nice and warm...not honky sounding. I also have the FP10 which has become quite rare. In my opinion...the best of the lightweight digitals .Also IMO it competes with more expensive Roland digital pianos sound wise. Once again there is nice control over upper harmonics and the action overall is fine with me in that price range. Most of my playing with these is done with headphones and a home stereo amp with EQ. Matching with speakers is an entirely separate subject. The Yamahas of the period the 300GX was available just don't compare.I have never had a defective key on the 300GX which is more than I can say for Yamaha .. Justin Havu
Going old school. Really fun to play, especially the Piano 3 and the two EP patches. However, the black keys make a clacking noise when released. I'm guessing it needs a new felt strip.
