great that you listened, brother !

I had a lot of fun with the synth part.

Its the " Keen Lead " Program, with portamento. I

added delay and other FX. I think this synth sound gives the song an attitude.

will catch up to your ambient stuff - I enjoyed what I heard last month, esp the mix.

Why fit in, when you were born to stand out ?

I listened to your tracks, very nice !

I esp liked Sudden Shut- the moody chords seemed to be telling a story.

All my songs have a message or a theme. You know how the creative mind work, I bet.

Interested in how you conceptualized Sudden Shut musically and visually.

Ok, lets talk gear ;) Tempted to get MODX and Fantom has shifted my attention.

I also get single minded on a board. My FA doesn't get much attention and it has several

strengths I have yet to explore

Thanks! As far as conceptualising, I'm definitely using a theme. In this case it's the work of the poet Philip Larkin - each title is based loosely on a line or phrase from a poem in his book The Whitsun Weddings. So for example, Sudden Shut is inspired by his poem Ambulance, which has a phrase 'the sudden shut of loss'.

On gear: as a gigging board I am absolutely rapt with the MODX but I'm not sure I'd necessarily use it much for recording but that's probably more me not thinking outside the box. I had severe GAS for the new Fantom but finances and the passing of time have settled that a bit :) Again though I would probably use it more for gigging. Purely based on the set-up of my little music space, I tend to do recording via soft-synths and gig with boards. :thu:
