It was brand new, but it was just absolutely falling apart. Everything was loose on it and the action was terrible. I'm certain they all don't play like this, but I haven't seen one since. I'll take a dozen. Yeah, the thing about it is that those "lesser" guitars aren't really lesser. They are less expensive, but sound and play every bit as good. A D-28 is one of the best sounding acoustics in existence IMHO....certainly one of the best acoustics to record with. And it's about 2.5% of the price of that D-100. With things like the D-50 and D100, you are paying for a whole bunch of custom hand-inlay work, that I think looks kind of tacky anyway....the thing is just too "junked up". The Red Wine Flame model ~ $179.00 !!!! http://www.rondomusic.net/e1ambq.html I already have the Amber quilt one and I put a super distortion in the bridge and a PAF pro in the neck....absolutely yummy sounding geeter. In the new one I'm putting in a set of all cream Breed's (bridge and neck) from Dimarzio..the new pups they made for Vai. That should be a beautiful combo for this guitar. I totally love the action and sound from these E1's. They just kill!!
