SRV Riviera Paradise

Jimmy Page Braun err or whatever it is called. I know it is cheating but it is from a 'rock' player.

Embryonic Journey Jorma Koukanen--another 'cheat' because he was in a rock band.

Hellecasters theme song the Jerry Donahue solo is really cool.

Free, 'All Right Now' just fits the song so well.

Does Bryan Adam's solo in 'Everything I Do' count? It's such an unexpectedly original and sympathetic solo (IMHO).

Those are great solos, however, the topic involves tunes which are ALL instrumental and which are in the rock/blues genre.

I believe you picked tunes that have vocals.

Those players/tunes are right on topic. The topic is rock instrumentals. . . .

I consider myself a "hard rock" type but I do love surf instrumentals, especially "punked-up" versions...

Ventures Walk Don't Run and Hiwaii 5-0.

Wipeout (Classic that all recognize)

Pipeline (esp. the Johnny Thunders version)

Let's not forget Link Wray's Rumble.

Oh yeah, ya gotta love Led Zep's Moby Dick. Isn't that played in Dropped D tuning?

And Rat Salad by Black Sabbath.

I'll try not to list any already mentioned, and a lot of good ones have been mentioned. :thu:

A great, but little known one:

Little Boy Blues - Rik Emmett (Triumph)

(And from the same album, Midsummer's Daydream. :thu: )

Off the top of my head:

  • The Crush Of Love - Satriani
  • The Attitude Song - Steve Vai
