Boggs
Here's a few pics of a bit of my work on guitars this weekend... Prototype CamelBackPack Coa/Cuban travel guitar neck/headstock. Neck is one of the 2 maple necks I got on eBAY. Still refining the shape. Suggestions welcomed... http://www.angelfire.com/ny5/boggs.com/Guitarproject/CamelBackPacker_Headstock1S.JPG Next, 5 pics of more padauk I have been bookmatching for when orders start flowing in uncontrollably... Got to be prepared for the mad rush ... You can pick your top and back. What other builder allows you to do that? All are still rough sanded with no seam inlay yet and obviously no finish on it. Sorry 'bout the shadow on the last one... http://www.angelfire.com/ny5/boggs.com/Guitarproject/Padauk_Bookmatch1S.JPG http://www.angelfire.com/ny5/boggs.com/Guitarproject/Padauk_Bookmatch2S.JPG http://www.angelfire.com/ny5/boggs.com/Guitarproject/Padauk_Bookmatch3S.JPG http://www.angelfire.com/ny5/boggs.com/Guitarproject/Padauk_Bookmatch4S.JPG http://www.angelfire.com/ny5/boggs.com/Guitarproject/Padauk_Bookmatch5S.JPG Did some home repairs with my wife, too, but I'll spare you those. A String
Wow that padauk is a beautiful wood. How is the sound? The head stock looks great although I think the pointy edge could be used as a weapon. Boggs
You can hear it on my website at www.rockbeachguitars.com . I use it for tops and backs of the chambered body using Cuban mahogany for the middle skeleton. Awesome sounding combination. Very refined with great string articulation. Look on my CamelBack guitar page (page 3 from the index) and scroll down to the clips. You will also see the construction of the skeleton. Thanks for the feedback! Caevan O’Shite
Wow! You had to repair your wife? How is she? Seriously, I love the color of that padauk, nice stuff, Boggs! Boggs
I said, "...with my wife," not "...on my wife..." We do a lot of interior work on our house together. Most of the time, we don't want to kill each other! She's, among other things good, an electrician. Caevan O’Shite
Well, I know how you get carried away with these D.I.Y. projects, so naturally, I thought... skipclone 1
At the music fair last weekend I saw one booth from a wood supply place, I mean these guys had everything. Really gets one to thinking. Ya, beautiful material indeed. Thanks for the view.
