PUP height adjustments for better output balance

Is it me, or am I the only one with these VOLUME ISSUES!

Anyway, my JB Jr. bridge PUP in my Strat is louder than the neck and middle Fender Noiseless. Is the remedy as simple as dropping the JB Jr. or raising the others? Isn't there recommended spacing between strings and PUP's?

Thanks.

Yes, I think it is. How much clearance do you have over your two Fender Noiseless pickups? If you've got a lot of clearance, raise those pickups. If you don't have a lot of clearance, drop the JB jr.

Aaaaaaaah, but if you raise the pups too close to the strings you will get "stratitis" and the guitar will not want to intonate as the magnets in the pups will interfere with the vibration of the string.

In my ears and experience, too close is worse than too far.

Yeah, trial-and-error, by YOUR ear, being carefull not to get them too close to the strings, especially the neck-pickup.

Try lowering the bridge first; if that compromises it's sound too much, lower it only "a little", and raise the other two "a little", the neck-pickup likely needing the least increase in height. Trial-and-error...

Don't overlook the balance between the bass and treble sides, as well...
