I thought his signature models were copies of his Red Special guitar?? Did they come in any other colours??

I've seen them on a few displays in music shops here recently, so assume they are still around, presumably the company producing them are making a push to cash in on the current tour, but I don't know much about them...

His signature models have been manufactured by several companies over the years, but other than the wine red copies, I'm only aware of black ever being available.

Apparently, Brian requested a tri-color burst be available from the latest manufacturer, Burns. Here are pics of both current production models.

At last years' Summer NAMM, they annouced that it would become an entire line of it's own. Since I wasn't interested in buying one, I never followed the trail after that. As was mentioned above, I think that Burns was the last group handling Brian May Guitars.

Doubtful! According to the Burns site, Brian wanted the production models to be affordable, but not cheap. He was adamant they use good board for parts, for example. The only place he compromised anything, according to the site, is on the bridge. They didn't say it expressly, but I believe they wanted to save money by using an existing bridge but with a custom handle, rather than incorporate the big expense of sourcing totally custom bridges.

Anyway, they say he was very happy with the final product when compared with the original he and his dad built.
