Philip OKeefe
The Avatar is the product that sunk ARP... it might be nice to have for the analog filters and whatnot, but a modern Roland would be a far more practical beast.
dreibel
I remember GP's comments on the Avatar in one of their 70s Nostalgia issues: "glitched and barfed like a frat boy at a kegger". Not to mention that, for a device the size of a small table, it was monophonic. I have a Roland GM-70 system attached to one of my Peaveys, which I now use for triggering synth plug-ins in Cubase. Works surprisingly well "I used to be "with it", but then they changed what "it" was! Now what I'm with isn't "it", and what is "it" is weird and scary to me. IT'LL HAPPEN TO YOU!" - Grampa Simpson
