Just got a new toy!

I just got a Behringer (please, do not throw rotten tomatoes...) V-Amp Pro rack mount processor with a MIDI foot controller. This thing is impressive. There is stereo DI (XLR) out, as well as unbalanced out, S-PDIF out (24/96), 3 "levels" of studio settings and 3 levels of live settings. This thing can store up to 125 presets, (it has 125 presets already loaded), there are two wah-wah/volume style footpedals, 10 preset activation pedal/buttons, 2 bank-select pedal/buttons, shloads of amp/speaker/effect combinations. AND, you can download presets from the Behringer website, which you can upload to the V-Amp via MIDI SysEx and their handy little V-Amp software tool. The software tool allows me to connect to the V-Amp with MIDI, make new presets, store them and upload them all from my laptop.

This box is built like a tank and pretty as a Christmas tree with all of the lights! (Not that it matters what it looks like - that part is just extra gravy...)

I played through it for the first time last night and many of the built-in presets are very good. The useful presets covered a lot of ground from nice rich clean tones to gritty blues and cranking guitar-star-solo-powerhouse type of stuff.

And I got it all for about $200.00 brand spanking new.

Just thought I would share.

Say what you want about Behringer. I think that this stuff is quite a hefty bang for the buck.

I hope it's not a Roland design... ;)

I still like my grainy 12 bit VG 8 but, the Rolandists, never "got it" as a rack mount

I hear the VOX also is the ish...

Sounds cool.

at THAT price it IS a toy ;) , too bad it would cost me about 430 (thats way past $500) and that makes it way too expensive

Whoops! Guess I can't add...

$149 for the V-amp Pro and $90 for the foot pedal. Still a pretty decent deal.

Got them on eBay in separate auctions.

Last night was the first I have used it with my band. This is the best live sound I've had in years!

I cant speak about the Pro version but I do know that there is little between the V-Amp 2 and the Pod 2. The V-Amp series is incredible for the price you pay.

I just got my V-Amp Pro Friday with the foot controller. I didn't have time to fool with it before our job Friday night, and I only had about five minutes to try it out before Saturday's job. I used it Saturday night, and it has some great presets right out of the box. I can't wait to tweak the patches I'll use, and create my own. Definitely the best sounding effects unit I've owned.
