GREAT EXAMPLE OF FENDER'S FINEST. i have been an acoustic player for 30+ yrs. and never got into electric at all. therefore i know nothing at all about them. this is all the information i have on a fender i want to buy. the price is around 400.00. is this enough information to give me an idea if its a decent deal? also i'm going to need an amp. nothing super great, just something to get the sound and feel of the instrument. thanks

Please, if you're going to spam the forum, there's a thread for it. It's the "spam, for sale, or wanted" thread at the top of the main guitar forum page.

Welcome, and please contribute something. Read some threads, post a few replies, and give us your opinion.

mygod i've only been to this forum twice, and even I know enough not to post a "for sale" sign here. The first time I logged in i saw someone absolutely get fried for doing it. it was hilarious. How can one not understand that simplest of protocols?

sorry for the post. obviously nobody in this forum can understand english. i'm asking for advice on this guitar. you sure are quick to jump down my throat. i just found this forum and thought i would try it. thanks for nothing. i'll go somewhere else where plain english is understood and people are a little more considerate. fusionguy, did you read the whole post?

I'd wager that it's worth $400 in parts provided they're all Fender parts. It's not likely to ever be worth much more than that given it's a collection of parts but...

.. if you love the sound and feel of this guitar.. buy it up.

You can always turn it over or pull it apart and build your own Frankinstrat.

I still think guitars are like shoes, but louder.

Give the guy a break! I read through his post one time and understood that he was asking our opinion before buying a guitar, not spamming with a guitar for sale. As for the all caps, my guess is that he copied and pasted from an Ebay or somesuch sale, since the ad is written by the seller.

Whether the guitar is worth $400 or not, I suppose it might be, but with a replacement body, it seems the only original part is the neck!

Anyway, welcome to the forum, bobaraba. Stick around and join the club!

I suppose it's 400 dolars. I think it's ok considering is USA made.

Don't worry about the others guys they didn't read all your post. I'm sure they are very happy to see you around here.

If your post is a question, people that like to answer questions would more likely read it if your title were a question.

Anyone reading the top 70% of your post with the loud and obnxious all caps is bound to think it is an item for sale. Read it yourself and be fair: that is how it reads. Why would we read all the way to the end: don't you know to start with your idea or problem and go into details later?

I can appreciate that you wanted an answer that you weren't getting, but can you appreaciate that your post is responsible for our confusion?

I suppose its worth depends on the quality of the replacement parts. Difficult to say unless you know where these came from.

My tuppence worth.

Assuming the current owner's word as to the source and quality of the parts is good, and the guitar sounds good to you, I'd say you're getting value for money.

I confess, though, that the fact they described a guitar of which the only original part appears to be the neck did cause me to raise an eyebrow ever so slightly.

As for the amp, I'll act under the assumption you don't want to shell out any more than the guitar and recommend you hunt about the used shops and online auctions for a low wattage tube Fender amp: A Champ, or Blues Junior for example.
