cool thanks-

I just bought one of those Avatar V30/Gh12h30 2x12 cabs. Its in the mail.

To be turned upright and have my Rivera 55w on top. The Rivera has a Celestion 85 watt in there.

SO with a 85watt (open back), a V30, and a Gh12h30 in the partial open back, making a little 3/4 stack, will these wattages all together will be a symphony, or a train wreck?

Thinking of the character of the speakers that is.

The Ohms are all fine.

thanks!

You said that the Ohms were OK. What are the speaker's ohms ratings and how are the V30 and the Gh12h30 wired? The reason I ask is that the speaker in your combo will be getting 1/2 of your total power while the other two speakers will be getting 1/4 of your total power each, that is if your two cabs are the same impedance.

oh OK I'm a bit uneducated on this, but the main speaker in the combo is 8 ohm from the the amp output,

and the whole 2x12 Avatar cabinet is rated 8 ohm mono. I will plug this into the secondary speaker jack in my amp that also says 8 ohm out.

thanks

The power of your amp is split 50/50 between the two cabs, then the power going to cab #2 (the Avatar cab) is split 50/50 between the V30 and the GH12H30. I would think that the speaker in the combo's cabinet will still be the main voice of your amp, with the other two speakers adding color.

OK I see, thanks.

So I'll finally be able to really judge the 85 watt & see if I want to keep it. I know there's lover& haters of high wattage speakers. Honestly I haven't had a good long time to decide for myself, but I will now since it'll be up on the 2x12 and closer to me head.

ha ha I was trying to type out one of my favorite Peter Sellers/Pink Panther lines with his ridiculous French accent - its hard to type out eh;

I think its in "Pink Panther Strikes Again" where Sellers/Clouseau is goes up to this guy to pet his dog or something, and he asks:

"Does your dog bite?"

The man says "No",

then the dog bites Clouseau

then he said "you said your dog does not bite"!!

and the man says- "thats not my dog"
