Guitarzan
i picked one of these up today at a guitar shop.. i can't belive how well it plays, for an import it sustains and resonates like crazy. even the high strings make the body and neck vibrate. i wish i could hear it with a set of low impedance EMG's. Mudcat
Nice! I was never able to play a Sitenberger. It always felt like my hand was going to go flying off the end of the neck. Blue Strat
I thought about getting one of these, but I'd want to load it with Seymour Duncan pickups, like maybe a set of Invaders with a Hot Rail in the middle. http://www.musicyo.com/product_images/525_full.jpg http://www.musicyo.com/product_specs.asp?pf_id=525 BlueStrat a.k.a. Blue Strat
So, 'Zan, are the EMG's active or passive? I thought the Selects were active? If those are anything like the other EMG's I've tried, I'd have to replace 'em. BlueStrat a.k.a. Tedster
I always wondered why they put the tuning pegs on the wrong side of the guitar, on all guitars except ones like this. Makes more sense to tune with your picking hand, rather than your fretting hand. I'm constantly hitting a chord, and then reaching across with my right hand to tweak a machine head to make the chord sound right. But it's easy if the tuners are right by your picking hand anyway. I'll have to pick one of these up! "Cisco Kid, was a friend of mine"
Dak Lander
Sorry, you couldn't give me that guitar. I'd poke someone in the eye with the end of it. They are typically on lower-end instruments, but I'd give 'em a chance on the guitar. I used to have a set on a (cheap) guitar, and I thought they had a good, well-balanced tone. And not super-hot, which I actually prefer. Bonus: the "single" coils are apparently a stacked humbucker. They don't hum, anyway. The humbuckers do in tapped mode, however. Pretty quiet as buckers tho. band link: bluepearlband.com music, lessons, gig schedules at dennyf.com STURGEON'S LAW --98% of everything is bullshit. Blue Strat
Thanks Denny! If I can come up with the cash, I'm going to buy one of those H-S-H Steinbergers. edit: The EMG's I tried were EMG Hz pickups in a Jackson guitar - not my thing. BlueStrat a.k.a. Blue Strat
I'm thinking that a Steinberger would work great for playing in church. I already use a direct box and pedals to lighten the load, so a more compact, lighter weight guitar is the next logical step... plus it's a good excuse to justify buying another guitar. Guitarzan
i thought it would be more brighter than it is. i love the warmth. and for less wood it is fairly heavy. there is weight behind each note. the passive emg selects are actually kind of nice and balanced. the trem is so neat for setting up. you lock the bridge with a lever, tune up amd stretch the strings abit, tune up and release lock then turn a knurled knob to compress the spring until it returns to pitch. then you can lock and unlock at will. nice trem and it is the cheap one. http://www.soundclick.com/bands/pagemusic.cfm?bandID=193274 rock it, i will

The Geoff
When I bought my bass recently, I seriously considered the 'Hohner The Jack' licensed version of the bass.
