It's a good point and I agree that sometimes it's better (far better) to ignore a jerk than acknowledge one.

There is a purpose behind our public flogging that serves us all and I'm sure it has something to do with keeping us from turning into the moronic idiots that live "permanently" in the SSS Political Party forum.

What we toss is more humorous than villainous and almost always perfectly true.

The one thing that makes it more tolerable than the SSS forum is that it's typically about music. That's why I'm here after all.

A quick, short SPAM flogging is an invigorating break in my otherwise boring day :D

... and it's a cheesy way to bump me up to 1000 posts

I still think guitars are like shoes, but louder.

I try not to, gets me in trouble. Plus I do like that first bass solo. In a way it is freakin' rude. Some times I like some of the stuff. Most the time not.
Red, what is rude? my comment or the spamish post?

Why don't the mods delete the posts?

By leaving the things there to be looked at, it keeps the incentive up for these losers to re-register under new names and keep pouring the crap onto the board. They know that at least dozens of people will look at it.

That's why I have a 100% ZERO tolerance spam policy on boards I mod.

If I see spam, (by obviously spam-only new users) I delete it. No questions, bo comments.

THAT is how you keep them from coming back, because they know that after all the trouble of registering and posting that their message will be erased (and their account banned) after that first blatant post.

When you do this, then the "smart" ones(I use the term VERY loosely) will post about 8 smiley-only or one-word posts to "look legit" but you can still spot them, and they'll give up.

It is the mark of an educated mind to be able to entertain a thought without accepting it.

Hey! Good point! I don't know why this hasn't occurred to me yet. I say we give this a try...
