Noodlesbad
Whenever I hear "double dropped d" I think Neil Young ... I know someone posted a Young tab link a while back. Check out Mr. Soul and Cinnamon Girl, if memory of long ago music lessons serves ... National Capital Rock
Mudcat
Beat me to it. I immediately think of "Cinamon Girl" and Mr. Young's wonderful one-note guitar solo when his tuning is mentioned. fantasticsound
Eric Johnson, Song For George. What a fine acoustic fingerpicked tune! I love playing this tune! Now, if I could only play it just like Eric! I play more in DADGAD than DADGBD. It's easiest to find me on Facebook. Tedster
"Black Water" by the Doobie Brothers is in this tuning, as is "Time For Me To Fly" by REO Speedwagon. "Cisco Kid, was a friend of mine"

fantasticsound
Ooh! I forgot about Black Water being double Drop D tuning, Ted! Great catch! Originally posted by LiveMusic: I don't know that song. Who's George? I have no idea who George is, but this tune is a solo acoustic steel string song on Ah Via Musicom. (The only acoustic song, IIRC.) The song has a bit of the "tension-building western feel" usually associated with some bluesy slide playing. But this is all fingerpicked, with some neat runs and interesting use of harmonics in a few spots. Also great use of finger picked chords laced with unaccompanied melody lines that seemlessly connect more elaborate sections. A great song from a great album! It's easiest to find me on Facebook. Tedster
Eric Johnson, in addition to being a mother of a guitar player, also seems to be a good egg in honoring his fellow fallen guitar brethren. Like the song "Stevie"...which, although unmistakably Eric, contained nods to SRV's style. That info might contain a clue as to who "George" is.
