I got my BMI statement from a performace on Disney's Z Games...

Recommended Posts

Well I just got my BMI statement for 50 seconds of 1 of my songs being used in a Disney show called "Z Games". I looked on the Net and on Disney's site but I don't think this show is on any more. What's funny about this is I can't recall how the heck they even got my CD! Anyone (maybe if you have kids they may) know this show? Guess it was show number 210. And guess what my 200% share got me? Do you like apples? How do you like these apples? $13.42--that's right, thirteen dollars and forty-two cents... Am I complaining? Hell no. I am thrilled beyond belief. I was like a little kid when I flipped open the statment looking to see where that $13.42 came from. Did I ever think my music would be used on a show? How about a KIDS show? Moral of the story: you never know! Keep pluggin' away... RK

Congratulations! That's great! I got my fist check from BMI ( for a whopping $28.17) 3 years after my CD was released. I was thrilled to death, read closer I found that my royalties were from airplay in the Netherlands !!!! I had to go to an atlas to see who was playing my music. LOL I know a lot of guys who have received BMI checks of under $1. That $13 check looks pretty good. Now go out there and do it 1000 more times.
