Guitarzan
had a big snowstorm on fri, lost power until today (mon 6:00 pm) man it was crappy. my whole weekend was darkness. the kids didn't seem to be bothered by the lack of heat, lights and warm food. most of Nova Scotia was out. it wasn't what i would call a big storm but for some reason three main towers collapsed. the rest of the winter should be fun ..you know what? i need an accoustic!!!! http://www.soundclick.com/bands/pagemusic.cfm?bandID=193274 rock it, i will
Big Red 67
A honda generator saved a gig in the foothills I played once. It also kept the beer cold! Big Red's Ride Blog

Shoes
As I drove home during the big blackout I noticed the local bar had a generator setup outside the door. They had no problem cashing a personal check 'Zan... you should have started looking for some salt cod to save and some Keiths to wash her down Civic duty as it were.. I still think guitars are like shoes, but louder.

fantasticsound
I played around with a Roland Micro-cube last week. Wow! For a batter powered practice amp this thing rocks! And it's a modelling amp. Not bad for under $150 US. It's easiest to find me on Facebook. Neil Bergman Soundclick fntstcsnd

I love snow, but it hates and avoids me, very rarely snows around me and cities have been known to get hit by blizzards (UK ones, you'd consider them a light breeze ) as soon as I leave... Dave da Dude
Guitarzan, ..you know what? i need an accoustic!!!! Of course! You didn't know that Not having an acoustic is like not learning to drive a manual shift vehicle; you can survive without it, but you'll never truly be a manly driver Seriously, an acoustic does have its own sound that can't be beat, even for Rock 'n Roll. Whitness Pete Townshend and many others. DARKLAVA, I hate snow Me too That's why I live in SOUTH Carolina Our secretary/office manager was complaining just yesterday that it looked like it would be a *bad* winter. On *cross examination*, this was found out to mean many days with the temperature below 32F (but no lower than mid 20'sF) and maybe even more than one snowfall! And that could be as deep as three or four INCHES The winter before the spring that I left Massachusetts for South Carolina (1993?), we had two snowfalls that were deeper than two FEET in depth (plus, of course many other of 3-9 inches). When my wife saw the forecast of the frist big storm she couldn't figure out why everyone was so excited about 1-2 INCHES of snowfall in Mass. and 3-4 inches in lower New Hampshire. I pointed out to her that the weather map (on TV, before www) didn't show 1-2" (3-4" in NH) it showed 1-2' (and 3-4' in NH). "Ohh .." How much difference one little ' makes The first snowstorm it took me until dark to *dig out*; ditto on the second. I didn't used to hate snow or cold weather, but enough is enough! Between the snow, lack of work, relatives in SC (parents, brother) and temperatures; we moved to SC and will never move back. Oh yeah, original topic; a Dobro would be even better than an acoustic to get the sound out there Gotta' geetar... got the amp. There must be SOMEthing else I... "need". NMcGuitar
Actually 'zan, you should have a couple acoustics. That way you can have a jam session (as you sit in the dark ).
