Hi! I just thought I would let you know about my website, www.davidrhodes.org. It includes a fairly complete discography, several Guitar Player Magazine articles, a long interview I conducted with Mr. Rhodes via e-mail covering his career from his days with Random Hold up until his present-day work (with Peter Gabriel, Akira Inoue and his own soundtracks), and other varied and sundry information about him.

Hi Stacie...

I liked the site. David Rhodes is way underrated, in my opinion. And you got a lot of good info out of him via email!

If you get to him again, be sure to ask about the technical stuff.

Welcome to the forums.

"For instance" is not proof.

At least StacieDee isn't a "hit-n-run" poster like Kara was.

Stacie, thanks for posting. David Rhodes is a great musician, certainly worthy of his own site. I've seen him a bunch of times with Peter Gabriel. I'm not familiar with everything David has done, so I'll have to take a close look at davidrhodes.org.

Welcome, StacieDee! David Rhodes is an excellent musician. I really dug those earlier Peter Gabriel albums, especially Peter Gabriel ("Issue #2") and Peter Gabriel ("Issue #3"), and Security. Great stuff, very innovative and devoid of cliches!

I must add here that we're getting into an awful hurry with the Spam-Can around here- in the alleged interest of keeping the Guitar Forum from being "clogged up" with "spam"- while it's STILL VERY OBVIOUSLY VERY CLOGGED UP THESE DAYS WITH LOADS OF COMPLETELY IRRELEVENT FLUFF...

Kiddin' around here and there is fine, even great, but... c'm on!

EDIT: To be fair, I've done my share of such hipocritical antagonism before, and probably set some bad examples in the past...

Wow. Just. . .wow!

I didn't think I was spamming - a friend showed me a post on your bass forum mentioning David Rhodes, and I posted there about my site. Someone suggested I would be better off putting the information here, so I did. Considering that this is a guitar players forum, and that David Rhodes has been playing guitar professionally for the last 25 years, I thought a site about him might be somewhat interisting to the folks here.

And yes, that's a picture of David and I in London last June (I'll ignore the other remarks in my most ladylike fashion).

As far as wanting more technical information from him, please feel free to email webmaster@davidrhodes.org. I am still in touch with David and would be happy to pass along any questions you might have. :)

Hey, again!

Please take all that "spam"-business with a grain of salt: the intent is well-meant, and well-founded, I believe (everybody here's alright, really), we DO often need to hastily make known that this isn't the place for free advertising and promotion.

Obviously, though, the distinction needs to be recognized between that and an enthusiast or a fan of "(fill in the blank)".

http://www.musicplayer.com/ubb/icons/icon2.gif Anyways... as an obvious lover of "guitar", you're very welcome here; and if you can get David Rhodes to pop in sometime, that'd be great!

Better yet, get David Powers, the guitar mastermind, to pop in some time. :freak:

Yeah- as DWW said, don't take it personal. ;)

We're always bust'n on one another here.

You just really have to watch out for Cosmo, though! :P
