LiveMusic
Got any ideas on Halloween songs? Even songs like CCR's "I Put A Spell On You" or Eagles? "Witchy Woman" or whatever the name of that song is. I'm playing solo guitar, so if it's a big production, that's out. I just thought of another one... Marie Laveau by Bobby Bare. I've always wanted to recruit some drunk from the bar... find someone who can scream real good... and he does the witch scream. Halloween, yep, I'm finally going to do that song like that. > > > [ Live! ] < < <

Mudcat
"Knoxville Girl" Nothing like a good murder song on Halloween! I think the Everly Brothers do my favorite rendition of that one. LiveMusic
Okay, good songs, guys and gals. Keep 'em coming. Preferably, songs that are pretty well-known. Spooky... I used to have an 8-track tape... it might have been my FIRST tape... Classics IV. They had Spooky on there and I really liked that song. I haven't thought of Classics IV in DECADES. > > > [ Live! ] < < <

Noodlesbad
I dig Donovan's version too, but my fave version of "Season of the Witch" is by Sam Gopal - one of Lemmy Kilmister's pre-Motorhead outfits ... actually the whole album's kind of scary. There's gotta be a Screamin' Jay Hawkins' tune out there you can use, LiveMusic (apart from "I Put A Spell on You" of course) ... "Little Demon", "Frenzy" or "(She Put the) Wamee (On Me)" perhaps ... NMcGuitar
Atlanta Rhythm Section also did arecording of "Spooky". It's a little more uptempo, and just a touch jazzier. Personally, I think their recording is better (of course that's just an opinion ); you might want to check it out to see if it suits your style better.
