Noodlesbad
I understand Peavey re-released the Vandenberg model recently, but as the "V-type" since Adrian Vandenberg doesn't have the name recognition he once did - they look pretty swanky. It got some decent reviews, I recall. National Capital Rock
picker
I picked one up with hard case for $150 at the last guitar show here in KC. They ain't made in the USA anymore, and the price is much lower than the first time around. Always remember that you are unique. Just like everyone else. Gifthorse
I had a Vandenberg for a few years in the late 80's and early nineties. It was a cool guitar for metal. Great neck with 24 frets. The sound was excellent too. The only problem I recall about it was the tremelo bar. I remember it being some weirdo Floyd copy that never really floated like it should. If it had, had a better tremelo that stayed in tune better I would have kept it but I opted at the time to upgrade to a Charvel Fusion model and I installed a Kahler Steeler on it. Now of course I would never choose either guitar cuz I am not into metal. http://flagshipmile.dmusic.com/ http://www.myspace.com/gifthorse
The Lone Chicken
Back in December 1973 I saw Joe Walsh on "In Concert", ABC TV's late Friday night live concert series, and that night he played a Hagstrom electric guitar that looked pretty much like a Gibson Les Paul but had a cutaway that was rounded, as opposed to the pointed cutaway of the LP. I kinda recall that Hagstrom guitars enjoyed a limited level of popularity during the 70's, and I even once tried one at the old Ambassador Music store on Tidewater Drive in Norfolk, VA (seemed to me to be a decent guitar). Now, after many years of apparent non-existance, according to ads that I've seen in GP, Hagstroms will be around once again. Robert J. Gifthorse
I remember Rik Emmet used to use this Les Paul looking guitar with an F hole in it. I think it was called a Framus Akkerman.
