revolead
Just got Dreams and Expressions. It rocks. Go check it out. To add to that, it's great shred playing without the Yngwie attitude or repetitiveness. Even you blues aficinados will appreciate it. Shut up and play. Tedster
Schenker's always been a wild man. "Cisco Kid, was a friend of mine"
Dennyf
I'm a HUGE fan of Mr. Schenker's playing with UFO. "Force It" and "No Heavy Petting" are two of my favorite albums of all time. By comparision, I was a little disappointed with the first MSG album . . . kinda lost track of him after that, except to know that he fell on hard times career-wise. Never really thought of him as a "shredder," although the man definitely has technique. He always seemed to be a little more about playing melodically than just widdly-widdly-wooooo. Glad he's doing better these days. One of my heroes! band link: bluepearlband.com music, lessons, gig schedules at dennyf.com STURGEON'S LAW --98% of everything is bullshit. Werewolf by Night
A wildman with serious skills and talent, too! Rev', if you like that- and judging by other things you've mentioned before, as well as your own recordings- I think that you should pick up U.F.O.'s Obssession. you'd probably dig that underrated classic quite a bit! revolead
I've wanted to get Obsession for awhile, but his solo album was at the forefront of my CDs to buy list. Thanks for the advice! Actually, I think I have that album bummed from WinMX right now. I like it, I just don't have the money for it right now, but when I do, I'll definitely go actually buy it. Shut up and play.
Axeholder
I played some shred solos without the flavor of Neo-Classical, Just some original heavy metal. It could be a different and amazing experience. Just request some skill that is not complex. I still love it. Hey! My friends. Dervaj
Michael is one of my favorite guitar players (and I nearly heard, seen and played them all). Pound for pound, he hits with the right arsenal at the right time. He sculpted much of my style. I met him 5 or 6 years ago In Saratoga. He was with UFO. The show was flawless. I see he has his own site now (a real site). I'm just trying to figure out what the heck is up with othes selling his music and such. Where did you get Dreams and Expressions? revolead
I got it on Amazon. You can't find it anywhere in stores. Trust me, I've looked. Shut up and play.
Dervaj
I found all his stuff from the last 12 years at guitar9.com. It seems he has been moving from 'thing to thing' trying to settle in. Check this recent interview. It was the best I ever seen with Michael. http://www.classicrockrevisited.com/Interviews04/Mschenker.htm Here is his 'real' site. http://www.michaelschenkerhimself.com/index2.html "There is no such thing as bad music. revolead
That interview was really cool. I never would've guessed an ex-hairband guy would suddenly find God and become spiritual. I think that's cool. And I think it's cool that he thought he could make it on his own. Talk about individualism and endurance. Shut up and play.
