leadfootdriver
I should of had something out 10 years ago, but that's the way things go sometimes. This disc was a long time coming, and I hope you all find it a gem. Mick MICKROCKS.COM MySpace

Gifthorse
Good job Mick. You remind me a little of this guy who used to play around the Detroit area in the 80's, he was very good, I think his name was Jeff Williams. http://flagshipmile.dmusic.com/ http://www.myspace.com/gifthorse

mavick
Well, we all have opinions which I am quite fond of. I personally have found out about some great players who might have been forced away from various sites if most people thought it was spam. Hell, I saw Kaki King's Dad on this site promoting something of Kaki's, & I was surprised he didn't get slammed. I just thought spamming was fine if someone had just died or something like that. Peace........................VVV
A String
I'm all for free speech, but a line has to be drawn. Otherwise this forum would be overrun with every idiot out there promoting his wares. There would be no room for regular posts and eventually everyone would leave. Then, there would only be the spamers left and they would have no one to sell to...Best to draw a line that everyone agrees with. mavick
True..........I also Never buy Guitar oriented CDs, that would be silly now wouldn't it? Because there is nothing new being done with the Guitar anyway; especially with someone who doesn't even have a deal with a "Real" label. leadfootdriver
Sheesh. Sorry if I upset anyone. If you don't want email from me, give me a repy saying so, or just block my email address. Ain't that hard. People get so uptite about things. Once again, just block it. It isn't easy when you're on the outside looking in. Success isn't all about how good you are, it's who you know. And that's too bad, but I'm not sitting around waiting to be discovered anymore. leadfootdriver
Here's an email I just by someone I "spammed"... It's letters like this that keep the fire burning, and keep me strong. "I'm part of your forum? LOL ok I joined so many at one point I can no longer remember what I'm a memvber of. No it's ok I don't mind you having my addy I just wanted to know who you are. I can't stand unfinished business. Does my head in. So, you're trying to make things happen on your own, eh? Very brave and noble of you. It's a tough old world so hats off to you if you do pull it off. It's about time we had something of real stature in the music industry instead of all this manufactured pop shit. I tried it on my own once too but it fell back on me. All I got was a bunch of timewasters. Oh well, I have to run for the moment, I have an early start at work tomorrow (we're hellishly understaffed) but do keep in touch. And sorry for the short essay here." It's just not right that you have a "Screw all of you, I'll do what ever I want, to make it" attitude. Sending unsolicited e-mails to people is spam. Plain and simple. If I have stuff to promote here I do it by posting song links in the music post area and posts about the album release etc. You crossed the line when you started spamming people at home. You may see it as o.k., but if everyone here did it, our inboxes would be over run. Why can't you see the mistake you have made? There are proper methods to promoting yourself, pissing people off by invading their privacy is not one of them. I wish you the best of luck in your future career and hope you understand that spam is one of my big pet peeves...Peace dude. Teahead
There is one point that you're overlooking here. That "Screw Everyone, I'm gonna make it on my own" attitude, complete with utter disregard for those I might piss off along the way, can result in the loss of a few friends and the complete alienation of most acquaintances. It's quite obvious you don't mind that happening, in return for whatever rewards and spoils you seek...but what if this big push for success doesn't deliver? Short of it being someone who I have had continued dialogue with, I wouldn't expect a self-promoting (spammy) email from anyone on the forum.
