dave251
Time for a breather... Started back gigging again with a folk/pop group. We're even featuring my instruments. Playing about once a week. Last nite we had a world class mandolinist sitting in. What a treat. Here's a poster from the gig.... http://www.electrocoustic.com/newimage/75st2sm.jpg For Tedster....we'll be doing the Kansas City 75th St. Brewery the 2nd and 9th of October. Both Saturdays, so if you're not playing come on by and I'll buy you a beer. Or anyone else in the KC area...I'm "sponsoring" the band, so drop by, take a look/listen at the instruments, and I'll send a really fresh brew your way. And I just shipped a five string mandolin to a fellow in Toronto. This one is just a bit oversized...compare it to the regular sized one next to it. Cocobolo appointments, with a mahogany neck and of course wester red cedar for the body. http://www.electrocoustic.com/newimage/mandos34smallloz.jpg I hate to report that my instrument prices have finally succumbed to inflation. Had to raise prices by 20% across the board after seeing a grocery bill the other day....I just didn't realize how much things had gone up...even if my suppliers are doing their best to hold the line. Also have done away with the "special" series of instruments with the commercial necks. All necks from here on out will be custom made to the customer specs. I've been selling these pretty steady, and have gotten real fast with a spokeshave. And I like the end product a whole lot better...so the website is going through a major revamping right now, and I'm in the middle of doing up a very "special" Mod styled guitar, with six per side machines on an angled peghead with cocobolo overlay. More news later... I'm up to over 90 electroCoustics by now, with guitars, basses, mandolins, and even an electroBro thrown in. I'm planning on something special for #100, perhaps a double six with an eC side and a "tele" side.... Dave Wendler Instruments

Boggs
It is so great to hear of your success, Dave. You build a truly unique and excellent instrument... Between you and Jim Soloway, I feel I know two of the best luthiers in the business! I have GOT to own or play one of those mandolins some day! They are way too cool!!!
