Hi, I just received a new Godin Montreal, which is beautiful, but I cannot find any help on how the controls adjust the various pickup combinations and what jack to use when??? I tried the Godin website, but couldn't find the info there. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Roger

da da DA!!! sorry for the dramatic entrance.

anyway i may be able to help.

the sliders at the top are for your "Accoustic" pickup.

the sliders are as follows (top to bottom)

1. accoustic volume

2. treble (10k)

3. mid range (550 Hz)

4. bass 982 Hz)

the knob close to the bridge pickup is the volume for your humbuckers. the knob that is directly behind it is the humbucker/ accoustic blend.

the knob that is lower on the body is tone for the humbuckers.

i hope this is what you are looking for.

you should have gotten a booklet with the guitar. check with the store.

i almost forgot , the lower of the two jacks is humbucker only output, the jack closet to the strap pin is the mix for accoustic and humbucker output.

Now I feel foolish, but I found the information just after making the initial post. It was at the Godin site. Like I said earlier the Montreal is an incredible looking and sounding guitar, and I just opened it up an hour ago. If I can help anyone let me know.

Man I sold!! I was just making some noise with the Godin and it is incredible!! My Les Paul will be gathering dust (no offence to the Gibson folks). Thanks guitarzan for your hospitality. I don't usually have much time to hang out in chat rooms, but this one may be different.

No offense taken, but since your LP will be gathering dust, I'll be glad to take it off your hands for the price of shipping. :D

FYI this is NOT a chat room.

Hey cosmo I think I will keep the LP just in case. Sorry I called this a chat room, is the correct verbage "forum"?

I listened to the two tracks you listed and I bow to the guitarists feet. The music is not really my thing, but the guitar tone is great and the playing exceptional. I couldn't play that fast if you had a gun to my head. It was cool checking it out.

http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/4/4_13_2.gif It was worth a shot! ;)

No problem. Although some of us (looking around the room and then the mirror) type so fast around here that it appears like a chat room. :D

http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/5/5_3_1.gif WOW! Thank you!! I never expected that. You should maybe get your hearing checked. ;)

It's an "old" acquired taste. FYI it was recorded in 1986 or so and the two solos were done in one continuous take, so I have no idea what I was doing. Come to think of it I still don't know what I'm doing. :freak:

Anyway, there's a GREAT bunch of people here with an enormous wealth of knowledge. Welcome again!!

My hearing is fine by the way. I was going to say it sounded like Ronnie James Dio singing/style, and I always thought he was cool. I sell cd's on ebay, so I listen to a ton of tunes (95% crap), so I feel I can spot crap when I hear it, and I liked the tunes.

Guitarzan, Thanks for the offer. I really don't understand the hosting thing. I need to reinstall my digital camera software so I can get a pic of my guitar. My hardrive died on me last week, so I am starting over.

Sauce- Thanks for the welcome. Seems like there are a bunch of cool guitarnuts here. I never liked chat rooms/forums, because they seemed full of people talking about nonsense and inside jokes, and I never felt welcome.
