Boy I must be out of touch - how long ago did Danelectro discontinue their guitars?

I have been surfing the net a bit, mostly in search of pedals, and lo and behold I find out Danelectro ceased production of their guitar line.

Anyone know when that happened?

How about parts? I have a DC-12 (I really like it) and it's in perfect shape, but if it ever needs any parts, am I out of luck?

They're not planning on discontinuing the pdeals are they?

I think it was at least one year plus........

I bought the Innuendo (one of the best playing, funnest guitars I have ever owned) a couple of years ago. Not too long after that I was looking for another model, only to find the only thing available were the stomps. It seems like the parts are pretty generic, but can't say for sure. I am kinda sad they quit production, seriously, for $129.00, those axe's ruled. People who know guitars can't beleive the tone of that thing, and it plays like butter.

Once I thought I saw you, in a crowded, hazy, bar........

I think Dano actually made their last guitar about two years ago but finally got around to admitting it officially only around November 2003.

I got a U2 and a tweed case off eBay in January, and replaced the bridge with the all adjustable one for the U3. Allparts.com still carries Dano parts. The thing is, though, I'd bet it's the last stock they'll ever get in.

I can't tell what's up with the pedals, yet. The offical Danelectro webpage still lists their pedals, but they took all the guitars off the site. This leads me to believe they're still producing the pedals. That, and the fact that all the online stores still have them. I guess I'll pick up that Tunamelt Tremolo I've been wanting sooner than later, just to be safe.

Thanks for all the replies... I'm thinking the same thing about the stompboxes - they're still on the Dano website while the guitars are not, but for anyone thinking about a Dano pedal it might be a good idea to get it sooner rather than later - just in case. :)

BTW, my DC-12 only cost me a couple of bones but plays and sounds great. It was a great bargain. :thu: Now I see stores selling mint and near mint used ones for $450 - $500. I'm sorry to see those guitars discontinued... I would have liked to have picked up a Bari too, but I certainly don't want to pay some artificially inflated price for it. :(

I was in the market about two years ago, and there was a store with a DC-12, two Hodads (with and without tremolo), and a Mod-6. I played all of them and that DC-12 was fantastic!
