LiveMusic
I don't know exactly what it is called. I recorded a demo on a friend's Boss 532 recorder. It has some effects you can use. He twiddled around it and had me try some (on acoustic guitar). One he had on there, it was like a chorus effect but it sounds kind of dirty, kind of more distorted than any chorus effect I've used on an acoustic amp. But, the song turned out pretty cool, just me and guitar. I was wondering if there is a cheap way to get some kind of pedal or something that would provide this or a similar sound for acoustic guitar. > > > [ Live! ] < < <

Maybe you are saying try that effect on the Boss532 but if you are, that's not what I'm asking. I'm asking what kind of device can you use for acoustic guitar while gigging to get some cool sounds. > > > [ Live! ] < < <
Werewolf by Night
He's referring to any effects in general that attempt, more or less, to simulate the sound of a Leslie rotary speaker-cab (like those favored by Hammond B-3 organ players) for a swirly, modulated, chorusy effect. There's a LOT of 'em, many with there own sounds (like Univibes and their clones, phase-shifter pedals, certain chorus pedals with their own distinctive stamp on the tone). One of the more "transparent" and "hi-fi" (in a good way) chorus pedals is the T.C. Electronics Chorus pedal (Chorus/Flanger/+ Pitch Modulator, to be exact). They sound great on acoustic guitars, and have stereo outputs if you're so inclined. A great sound is to send the acoustic's pickup or mic'ed signal through the T.C. Chorus, and then through a good "plate reverb"-type reverb patch on a good multi-effects unit.
