BenderOfStrings
Last night I dreamt that I was playing my Larrivee acoustic and suddenly I noticed a crack in it on the backside. I remember thinking "ok, no big deal. I know several Luthier's who can repair this." Then I start playing and it's incredibly FLAT. I noticed that now there is a loooong crack down the front of the guitar too! I started yelling and saying "OH MY GOD!!" Anyway I finally woke up but man that was scary! I immediately went and inspected my guitar and it was fine.
Big Red 67
Yes but not for years. Had an old Ovation slim body with the crack that they get between the g string at the bridge and the strap button area. I would see the crack open to my terror. Then it would suck me into a flaming hole. Big Red's Ride Blog

NMcGuitar
The nightmare I usually have is that I am on stage with a chance to play with one of my favorite bands, and no matter what I do there are problems with the guitar (strings break, guitar won't stay in tune, no volume, etc.). tiger85
Here's a REAL thing that happened to me in the early 90s. I woke up and went downstairs to play my new ES-335 (actually it was used but knw to me), opened the case, and lo and behold... the peghead was bent back from the neck! Needless to say I took it back to the guitar store and traded it for another guitar. Seems as though the peghead had been cracked and repaired and popped off again! ...touched down in the land of the Delta Blues.....in the middle of the pouring rain.... I have this one a lot. The last few times, it was me filling in for Chris Squier in YES. The look Jon Anderson gives me still chills me to the bone. Steevo
My nightmares are usually related to sound system stuff. You know, I'm attending a packed show and the main mic goes out. Off stage voice announces, "Would Steevo please report to the sound booth". I end up soldering wires and untangling chords while the whole audience waits in silence. Had this one a few nights ago ... again.

Yeah, a couple of those have come true for me, too...on a couple occasions. I think that's the guitar equivalent of going shopping in your underwear. Mile Davis and Oscar Peterson would have hung me! thank god it wasn't them. hmmmmmm Christina ..... better than being a dancer for Madonna. Billster
I rarely get dreams, but... I had a reall weird dream last night where I was sitting on the edge of the stage for a Survivor concert. It's the eye of the tiger.... My two year old was there too, helping to line up a tarp when a carousel that was supposed to spin the drum riser didn't work right. In case your wondering, we had homemade hamburgers on the grill for dinner before. Buy my CD on CD Baby! Bill Hartzell - the website MySpace?!?! mach1mike
Yes i have dreamt that my guitar was damaged. I am also into hot rods and i dream about them to. Things like the hood flying up will I'm drving or the brakes not working. One time i woke up to find myself sitting up in bed reaching down with my hands to push on the brakes because they would not work. I'm just a regular Joe in the audience ... but expected to solve someone else's screw up while everyone watches. When I play live for real, which is admittedly not often, I'm prepared to solve my own problems with the things you mentioned.

I've had these too. Have you ever seen the movie "All of me" with Steve Martin and Lilly Tomlin, where he's a jazz guitarist and her soul gets trapped in his body. She winds up controling half his body and in one scene on a gig she's moving his right hand while he tries to take a solo. It's a pretty funny scene. That's the kind of recurring dream I have, that I have no control of my hands while I'm playing in front of people and I'm just playing random notes that don't go with the music at all. The funny thing is that in my dream I'm always really frustrated, but the crowd is usually cheering as if I'm really playing well. I usually wake up feeling really embarassed Paul
