Ya got me stumped. It's really not the type of music I'm into these days, so I'm at a loss for what you're looking for.

FWIW, I just pulled out some old John Mayall recently that I hadn't listened to in years. It really rocks. If you want something that's more of a British-Invasion/blues/down-and-dirty rock 'n' roll type of thing, then I'd highly recommend it.

May all your thoughts be random!

Check in at The Indie Hangout and look around. You just might join too. good people over there too and some outstanding music. Check the reviews forum. There are quite number of people that have stations on their sites so you don't have to click around too much. Worth a look.

Ha, I'm glad you asked, cause this is right up my department. If you like melodic metal, I suggest any of the following:

Dream Theater

Judas Priest

In Flames

Van Halen

Scorpions

Metallica

Michael Schenker Group

Def Leppard

There's tons of other 80s hair bands and stuff you'll like if you like Maiden. I'm a huge Maiden fan. Just listen to my music or look at my website.

Also, from more modern bands, I give these a great recommendation. Not technically involved, but it's still melodic:

Breaking Benjamin

Papa Roach (to an extent they're catchy and melodic)

Greenwheel

Staind (only Break the Cycle though. The new album sucks, IMO.)

Shut up and play.
