fogman
Can anyone tell me what the deal is with Hotrail pickups? I have seen a lot of these lately and am wondering what they do for the sound of the pickup.

Big Red 67
I found a humbucker that is setup with four coils. Quad rail is what it is called. Hot smoking hot. put the bassman on 4 or 5 and the thing will feed back with incredible consistency! Big Red's Ride Blog
Blue Strat
Seymour Duncan Hotrails are humbuckers (i.e., dual coil pickups) in a single coil sized pickup. Seymour Duncan makes a few different pickups with the same basic design as the Hotrails, such as the JB jr., lil'59, and lil' screamin' demon. My experience with the Hotrails pickups is that they're just like hot full sized humbuckers. The Hotrails are the hottest single-coil sized pickup SD makes in their US facility, but you can get the Scorcher (made in Korea) that's even hotter than the full sized pickups. BlueStrat a.k.a.
