Shoes
Crap is pretty much what it is...but like the guys said.. sometimes this is an oportunity that we might not have seen otherwise. I got tossed 16 months ago and managed to slide back in through a crack but in a different role. You've likely collected as many hats as I have over the years and this might be a good time to try them on. I wish you all the best in stirring something up. I still think guitars are like shoes, but louder.

tiger85
I feel your pain, my teaching job at a private school ended in May because I couldn't be recertified again to teach emotionally troubled teens without going BACK to school ( I already have two college degrees so that's really out of the question, not to mention very expensive). This job paid great and I wouldn't need the recertification if they had left me in the teaching position I was originally hired for. Oh well, I'm looking and hoping and praying. Oh yeah I finally was able to get weekly unemployment benefits! Better than nothing! Sorry for the rant folks! Anyway, Good luck geezer! tiger85
Okay, for you young uns that might not know, The Monkees, a prefab four made for televison Beatles type group, generated controversy over whether they actually played the instruments on their records ( session people actually did, at least early on). In all fairness they do tour now with Mickey Dolenz (drums) and Peter Tork ( bass) on rhythmn guitars and vocals and Davey Jones on vocals, backed by a small combo. And Milli Vanilli? FAKE FAKE! The vocals for this duo were actually done by others, though one of them put out a record a few years after their exposure on his own. Truth be told, many groups over the years have used studio musicians to enhance their sound. And Britney Spears? Uh never mind. ...touched down in the land of the Delta Blues.....in the middle of the pouring rain....

Joe Cole
That sucks, but if it is any solace, it happens to everyone in the corporate world at one time or another. Downsizing, right-sizing blah blah blah. It happened to me three in the record disty biz (2 bankrupcies). Now I am totally out of that game, and into the software game, my life has never been better. ...yeah, and thank God for my wife. There is no substitute.
