webe123
I was thinking of getting one of these as a belt transmitter has turned out to be too much trouble. But does anyone have one or has anyone tried one out? What are the ups and downs to them? Here is a link to the model I am thinking of purchasing. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=7266&item=3742346024&rd=1&ssPageName=WDVW I was just wondering how these did in a live situation. I play in a church setting, so if it is a quiet system, that is a plus.
Guitarzan
guitar player tried one and said it was good, the only problem they had was it tapping against the body and making a sound, but they solved that with some tape i believe. http://www.soundclick.com/bands/pagemusic.cfm?bandID=193274 rock it, i will
Dak Lander
I've not used one but that AKG system should be pretty good. I think the Samson Airline was the first of that type I ever saw. They've been around for awhile so I'm sure they work or AKG wouldn't have picked up the same type of system. I would suppose that you'll still have the normal wireless interference issues though the lack of the guitar to belt unit cord being gone could make up for any other small issues that might arise. That price seems to be pretty good, as the Sweetwater price on the Samson unit is three bills. Our Joint "When you come slam bang up against trouble, it never looks half as bad if you face up to it." Yeah, I checked up on the Samson unit and I remember when they were introduced, though I have never owned one, they seemned kinda high. This AKG unit is also UHF which seems to be a plus, becuse so much is already on VHF frequincies. So I may just go for the gold and get one. For that price $189.00 with free two day shipping, that is not a bad deal at all.
