Billster
I only read the first page, but it looks like the notorious post was part of a, you guessed it, political topic. It also looks like he said "if you are revealed to be a complete moron, do you get to be a moderator?" Don't diss the mods! I did get a kick out of "not worth the electrons carrying it..." Funk Jazz
maybe that's why he's been scarce in these parts. wierd to see him lose his cool like that also weird how these forums tend to break down some really cool cats, i mean, we lost henry robinett in an equally stupid argument. it's just one more reason to stay out of political discussions online. Guitar Geezer
Jim said that he dropped out here because he got fed up and burned out by Mr Nice Jazz (you know who). Apparantly he developed a good fan base over at HC...but then itseems you can get banned over there for just about anything Lynn G

Big Red 67
I tried to join with another email add. I had sent a couple of forwards to my list. Some one at Bass was getting them so I removed the address. Somehow the emails kept going through to the person. I was getting threats from this person at Bass player to stop. I kept emailing him back telling him I already removed him and would like more info to help me out. More threats to stop with no help from him. I tried to use that email to sign up and found it to be blocked. I used another. Don't screw with the man is the message I got. I guess that people with power, use power. I realy felt bad about the problem, but could do nothing to slove the problem. When the emails became treates I wanted to find him and get back at him somehow. I chose to forget his name instead. Big Red 67
Oh, forgot the funniest part. I had emailed to ask about the millennia td-1 witch had been mentioned several times in the Jaco tribute album article. He told me that he didn't know anything about it, but the next Bass Player had a big add for it in. This means he didn't bother to even look for me. What a great guy! I hope this doesn't get me kick off. That's how the cookie crumbled for me. It felt terrible to be treated like that. Then have him send me his irrtation over junk email. Jim Soloway
Here's the scoop. First, tere was no "offending" post and I was not banned. That's just a limitation of their software. I asked to have my account deleted because given the level of behaviour, I was just too tempted to tell too many people to go f*** themselves. I was told by the site management that they preferred to simply lock the account to prevent someone else from taking my identitiy. I agreed to that and the software marks all locked accounts as "banned". End of story. My only desire was to quietly disappear from their site and my one regret is that I didn't ask to have all of my old posts deleted. That way no one would have noticed and there would not have been the 8 or so additional pages of speculation and commentary that has now been generated in multiple threads. www.solowayguitars.com

Adamixoye
If you really want to know someone's political persuasion, how about PM? Also, the "electrons" line was ridiculously awesome. Jim Soloway
My position on the election and politics in general is very simple. I think that as a country, political dialogue on all sides has become mired in screaming, insults, filth and recriminations. I think we should be able to disagree with people without accusing them of treason and without stooping to references to "someone's bitch". I think we should be non-partisan enough to realize that no politician should ever be above criticism and that those who we oppose should never be held so low that we feel that we can insult all who support them solely on the basis of that support. Without those qualities, I feel that democracy is in serious peril. My own personal beliefs are, like most people, a mix ranging from liberal to conservative and some in the middle. Mostly I am a realist and I value honesty over ideology. During the 2000 election cycle I made two financial contributions, both to candidates who I considered to be honest and intelligent. One was a liberal Democrat, the other was a conservative Republican. They both lost. As for the presidential election, I believe that both parties could have offered better candidates, but I am afraid that politics in this country have gotten so ugly that those best qualified for the job are probably no longer interested in running. www.solowayguitars.com
Big Red 67
Yeah, Joe Walsh doesn't even seem to want the office anymore! Them times they are a changin' somethings got to give. To many people have forgotten about the human family. We are here to help when help is needed so that way when we need help it will be there. It seems that people used to be politicians. Now politicians seem to be more than just people. It's wrong, they are just people. I wish this whole overimportant people thing they have would go away. And most of the political nonsense has been banished to the SSS Political Party. I don't frequent that board either. It's easiest to find me on Facebook.
